Gerry - Many many moons ago I drove through Montana into Idaho in a VW Beetle headed towards Portland Oregon. A moose like this jumped up on the road out of nowhere and I quickly snapped the steering wheel back and forth and missed the moose by inches.

If I would have been any slower with my reaction I may not even be here to tell you the stories, very nice photos you have there!

Hi Gerry - It's another great Monday to enjoy your Moose photos.  I go by a Mel Moose from time to time so I hope bring my camera with me soon so that everyone can enjoy him.

Hi Gerry ~ Too funny - I read it as "thirty moose" and I was expecting a herd. What a beautiful photo - the colors are mesmerizing and I always like a good moose photo!

Hi Gerry

Great photographs, we think this is the only way to shoot nature, leave it behind for others.  What camera are you using a point and shoot or SLR.

That's just sweeeeet Gerry! Very nice photograph, actually it's extremely peaceful :) You always seem to be in the right place at the perfect time.

Liz,

I am glad you like theses ones.  I do have a photo with thirty or more deer but no more than two moose in a photo so far.  I don't think moose like to hang out in big groups.

Sheldon,

He sure is.  A very thirsty fellow may I add.   He stood in his oasis for a long time and was not disturbed whatsoever by me and the other tourists taking photos of him from a distance.  Cheers!

Carol,

You are welcome.   If you haven't yet, I recommend you drive in Yellowstone some day.  That is where you have good chances of spotting a moose.

Mary,

I love Yellowstone too!  I am hoping to make one more trip next week.  I am grateful to live only 69 miles away from the northeast entrance to the National Park.

Well I am happy to see you have more moose photos, because my trip to the North Country did not produce any...there was a bear sighting nearby, but no moose...=o( This, however is a GREAT shot, and I'm just wondering, is that considered "moose drool" or moose dribble in the second shot?  =o) Either way, well done!

Cheryl,

The second photo can indeed be considered to be moose drool.  :)

Thanks for positive comments.

I keep seeing signs throughout New Hampshire warning "moose crossing" however, I have not been able to capture any photos... these are great!

Gerry your camera does a find job, we chose the point and shoot Panasonic DMC-TZ3 only because it has a little wider lens than most.

That Cody, Wyoming, entrance to Yellowstone is my favorite. There always seemed to be more wildlife out that way than at the other entrances to the Park.

Al and Peggy,

Judging by your photos on AR, your camera is doing a fine job too.   Mine is over 2 years old and is approaching the end of his life expectancy as some parts are falling apart and the battery holder needs a tape to hold it in place.

Vebas Bob,

Please do capture some moose on film and share with us!   I know there are not that many moose photo opportunities in Las Vegas but you travel quite a bit so I am sure you will run into some when you least expected.  If you need help finding them, you can always ask your Alien friends whenever you see them.  :)

Russel,

We must have been lucky to be there earlier this week and see plenty of wildlife.  That entrance is presently closed because of a fire near the West Thumb.  Fire is a natural process (it actually helps the lodge pine to spread in the Park with time) but let's hope they manage to control it and keep the newly burnt area to a minimum.
