I understand that Vista also has the Snipping Tool, but I didn't use Vista, along with millions of others.

I do have Snag It on a couple of machines, and it is a great tool.  But it is $49.00, too. And it has to open up for me to use it.

But, in Windows 7, I have discovered the free Snipping Tool.

And, I'm loving it.  It is quick, simple, intuitive, and gives me choices of format to save photos.

Just grabbed this image from AR:

And it was quick and easy.

I used it in a blog the other day, about the new Working with Real Estate Agents pamphlet from the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.  The basic yellow highlighter helped me make my point.

Snipping Tool: Just another reason I am delighted with my Windows 7 experience so far!

I've had Snag It for awhile and just got a new computer with Vista.  Haven't tried Snip It yet but now that you've brought it to my attention I'll give it a try.

Cindy,

It won't make you forget about Snag It and all of its capabilities, but I think Snipping will be a big help and time saver for general use.

Mike - Since I just upgraded y computer 8 months ago I am stuck with the Windows XP (I gutted the Vista).  I have been using jing project for similar features and it's free.  Glad you like Windows 7 since I will likely buy another Dell in the future.  Although I must admit I am extremely intrigued by Apple products

Nevin,

I don't think I care to go back to XP after about 6 weeks with 7.

I like IE 8, too, but think it works best with 7.

I still think I'm going to wait for all the bugs and problems to get worked out before I dive into the upgrade. Thanks for the encouraging report.

Terry Bonnie,

Probably a wise move.  I am usually a late adapter, so I have been having fun with it.

I sure wish I had access to ZipForms OnLine for 64 bit W7, though.  Maybe next month when the retail release is behind us...

Sounds like a good tool - but we are not going to move from Windows XP pro for a long time -- the printers work with it, the scanners, and all the software --

Bob & Carolin,

Understood.  I had to take that into account when I upgraded.  Compatibility View was a great asset when Dell failed to support a very expensive printer with a 64 bit driver.
