Winter Baserva, Atlanta Realtor, to be on Upcoming Episode of HGTV's House Hunters!!!!

When I got the call from High Noon productions that they wanted me to run a test shoot for an upcoming episode for HGTV's House Hunters, I was beside myself. I asked them how they found me and why they were interested in me and they said they were looking for really fun agents that were having smashing success in a down economy. I guess my making fun of Brittney Spears was noticed by someone...

My clients and I did a test shoot and within a week found out we were approved for our very own episode. I found out later that we were actually the last episode that was shot in Atlanta and only one of three total to ever make it to the big screen. That means out of 46,000 licensed agents in Georgia, I was selected to be one of the three to ever air in the Atlanta area...To say I'm humbled is an understatement.

Since the shoot, I have to say, I have a WHOLE new respect for the entertainment industry. A lot of time and money spent is spent on these shows. House Hunters flew in a film, sound, and production crew from Denver and spent approximately four, 10-hour days making this a reality for me and my clients.

So, what is my episode about????
Buyers Brian and Kelly are looking for the PERFECT Brookhaven home and have selected me to help them embark on the most important decision they've ever made...

atlanta home buyers

So, did they choose the:

*4 bed/3.5 ba, 3200 sq. ft home for $469,900

*5 bed/ 4 ba 3200 sq. ft. home for $470,000

*4 bed/2 ba/2 half bath 3000 sq. ft. home for $474,900

We'll I can't give away the show, but I can say we had some great "out-take moments" that I would love to get my hands on! I don't have the outtakes, but I do have some of the more memorable parts of the experience to share.

The drive scene..not easy to drive when you're wired! Smile...you're being watched by millions!

"Wow, look at the crown molding and millwork detail"

"This is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath with 3200 square feet and is listed for $469,900"

All and all, I'm completely humbled by the opportunity, effort, money and time that High Noon productions put into my episode. I LOVE what I do and I work extremely hard at it. I feel so blessed to be able to show the world a bit about the real estate profession.

The episode airs early spring, so be on the lookout for the launch date. And, if you would like to start your own house hunt with me, please give me a call at 678-463-3173.

Wowza!  What can I say...Winter plays full-out and the results are indisputable. When a major television series comes calling, that is no accident.  Winter delivers hard work, creativity, and an advanced knowledge of people because she consistantly invests in her own knowledge, for the purpose of serving others.  She is full of personal power!

What great exposure for you. I have watched House Hunters many times. I am curious, do you have to get the permission of the sellers to show their homes when you have a film crew in tow? I have noticed on a lot of House Hunters the homes are vacant which I assume makes it easier.

That is very exciting!  I'll look forward to watching the show. I was supposed to be on one almost two years ago but the schedule was tight.  It was around the Christmas holiday and my buyers had a delay in getting into the new home so we wound up not doing it.  I think my buyers were relieved.  She was really nervous about appearing on tv. I, on the other hand, was less happy.

As for which home they choose, almost always it will be whichever one is vacant.  My buyers taught me that.  Funny, I'd watched the show for years before they figured that out.

When you find out the date, let us know.

Hey Winter, welcome to the club. Congratulations on being chosen, too. I know how long those days of filming can be and how much, at times, you yearn to hear the words: room tone. I am surprised there is not a group on Active Rain for House Hunters' alumni. That way, we could all let each other know when our shows will air.

Great photos! I really like the way you captured the essence of the filming. It looks like you had a delightful time!!

Congrats on the show.  An agent in my office was featured on House Hunters here a couple of years ago, and he showed his buyers one of my listings.  My sellers were thrilled to see their home on the show, even though it was not the one picked by the buyers.

I can't say that I watch much HGTV especially since those bad old shows that showed how much commission the agent was making. Let's hope that your segment restores some professionalism and civility to the public's real estate perception.

So cool!!  I always wondered how they decided on how they choose who is featured.

I have a question:  have you been working with these buyers for awhile and these are the final three houses, or did they give you buyers and the houses they were intersted in?

Winter:

What I really think you should share with everyone is that you have only been in real estate for one year.

Not very many agents would have the nerve to start a real estate career in a down market.

You have clearly proven that winners pay no attention to the media and the doomsayers.

Congratulations on your SUCCESS which I know goes far beyond being featured on HGTV.  It is your clients that are the real winners with an agent like you.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND KIND WORDS!! It TRULY means the world to me. To answer your questions:

Alan-YES, you have to get permissions from the sellers to film. You have to get permissions from EVERYONE!!

Tim-The buyers were paid a little to do the show. The agent is paid less, but its not about the money, its about the exposure.

Sheree-I wasn't nervous because its not live, if you mess up, you just do another take.

Shana-These were my buyers. I had been working with them for about 6 months. I sold their condo in Buckhead and then they bought the home. The show contacted me and my buyers had to apply, but its definately real buyers and real houses that we were looking at.

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!
