Are you climbing the ladder of success or are you a few rungs short? Is making it to the top your goal or just a passing thought? How are you measuring your success?  Is the next rung just out of your grasp?

The ladder is comprised of several rungs. Mastering the lower level is easy. Achieving the next level takes a bit more skill and as you perfect your skills, the rungs come more easily. So as professionals how are you measuring your climb?

For some it is the money. For others, it could be more time with your family, and for others it could be on a more personal level.

Even if you have been in the real estate industry for years, there is no magic bullet. The industry is ever changing. Just as we perfect one aspect, something new comes along. There is always something to be learned. Continually educating ourselves helps to make us better. Better loan officers, better Realtors, better employees, and more importantly, better people. We are growing, which is what helps us to become that special person we are entitled to be. Constantly evolving, changing, learning. What new thing have you discovered about yourself recently?

Reaching the top of the ladder is never easy, but don't ever give up, because you never know if success might be right around that next bend in the road.

Desire + Dedication + Discipline = SUCCESS!!

Have a great day!!

I encourage my agents to set goals in their business and in their personal life.  I preach to them that they need to have a balance between career and family in order to be totally successful.  It's taken me 43 years and two marriages to really appreciate the balance between those two spheres.  Making a ton of money is nice but if you don't have someone to share it with then what's the point?

I am climbing slowly but surely.  I can say I am better today than I was yesterday!

Even though I've been in this business over 30 years (who's counting?), I never fail to keep my focus on educational opportunities.  Enjoyed your post.

Success is different for all of us. Coming from the corporate world success was always driven by revenue and bottom line profit dollars. Anything less than the expectations was a failure. I have my 5 year business plan, I have my weekly, monthly and yearly goals which I could not fucntion without. They are the road map each day. At the end of the day however if I have given it my all, I have helped someone in some way, and have worked diligently to make a difference in my community, then I feel the day was a success.

I feel that it is not how far you have gone but how much you have done and the quality of service you have provided that shows your success. If you have made 30 sales in one year and may have only really built 2 clients for life versus having 7 sales in a year and gotten 4 referrals and 6 clients for life- I think that quality of service shows more success because you have not only done what you were set out to do; you gained the confidence and relationship with those who have encountered.

John,
Great post and lots of truth--I would add one more although it doesn't start with "D" --Belief in Yourself
