Are blogs the new journals?

It has been along time - maybe a few years - since I heard someone talk about writing in their journal. We still write down 10 things we are grateful for each day and 10 things we want to attract, but I don't know if many people are even doing that. With so much negativity in the universe it is pretty easy to attract the positive right now. I guess blogging is the new journal only the whole world knows. Maybe that brings more accountability and self- honesty? Do we have to dig as deep? Do we really analyze ourselves, our goals, our journey, and most of all the "WHY?" The "PURPOSE"? Do you know anyone who still journals? My 81 year old mother still writes a diary each day. She can tell me what she did twenty years ago and what I did too- how cute is that! Times are changing fast in so many areas. I am 56 years old and still getting used to these new ways of living and thinking. I am not saying they are bad, I am just saying they are different. What do you think?

Lori: The pace is certainly much faster … we have evolved so much in a relatively short period of time. Perhaps what we face now presents a golden opportunity to get back to some basics and allow time to focus on such things as Purpose. Thanks for you post – I enjoyed reading it!

Love your photo! You look so happy- exude love, peace, happiness joy! I used to be a realtor in Silicon Valley too. Thanks for your nice comments. We certainly are faster pace- how can we get faster? It seems each year we live there is more information and faster pace. I remember when my daughter  was little ( she has learning disabilities) I kept saying hurry, hurry, hurry. Now we are all still hurrying. Seems it has not changed- we just do more!

Personally, in addition to my public RE blogs, I also have a blogger.com blog that is set to private. I used to have a journal but it was stolen in Cambodia (and yes, it had all of my travel stories from 4 continents in it so it was an awful loss). With blogger, I don't have to worry about losing years worth of journaling - and it's still not out there for the world to read.

Plus I type much faster than I could ever write =)
