Merrimack, New Hampshire - Octoberfest - a Festival for Pets and Humans

WALKTOBERFEST -- A Festival for DOGS and their HUMANS!

The Humane Society for Greater Nashua is celebrating the 26^thAnnual Walktoberfest (Walk-a-Thon).

The event will include great food, activities, vendors, and some special entertainment featuring music by the Josh Logan Band!

When: October 3, 2009 - Saturday -rain or shine

Where: Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Merrimack, NH, 221 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH

Time: 9:00-12:00 Walk-a-Thon (Pets allowed from 9:00 to noon - current vaccinated, leashed) 12:00-4:00 Octoberfest Pets allowed ALL DAY!

Cost: $5.00 adults/kids 12+ - kids 11 years & under - Free

Free admission for those collecting Walk-a-thon pledges!

Dogs must be properly leashed (no flex leads) and vacinated.

Proceeds: To benefit the Humane Society for Greater Nashua

Shelter Dogs will be available for on the spot adoption at Walktoberfest! New Hampshire pets for adoption

The Humane Society for Greater Nashua has taken in many pets who have become homeless for various reasons including recently flooding and foreclosures. They strive to find homes for all these pets, but are in need of supplies.

The Humane Society relies solely on community-wide support so please attend or send a donation.

Where you can bring your pets.

This was sooo much fun last year. The DOG Walk-a-thon is priceless... all the pets and kids ... and some in costume. Also, it benefits such a great cause. I can't wait.

Joan, How clever is a Walktoberfest! I hope all the dogs find good homes that day. My two kitties are from a local pet shelter group. They make the best pets!

Joan, we are having a Octoberfest in New London, CT. They always get a great turnout for this event. I hope you guys get a great turnout as well.

I had a great time last year... The Octoberfest is a lot of fun and the Beer is so good!

Joan, I would love this...so would Skylar and Sugar :) I think they'd probably put ME on the leash, though :)

Carol -- Skylar and Sugar are welcome to come to the Walk-a-thon and festival... So far all humans have succeeded in not being on a leach so I think you would ok.

Susan -- the dogs love the Walktoberfest... and they love a parade! It is so much fun. I hope a lot of pets get adopted and that they are able to raise a lot of money to help the pets who still need homes.

Joan, I love it. Walktoberfest is so clever. And good for all involved.

Matt ~ Sorry you will miss this festival, but there are lots of activities going on in New Hampshire .. so I am sure you will have an enjoyable time. If you are near or around Nashua, maybe we can meet up and say hi in person.
