SEPTIC SYSTEMS AND WELLS

When you have finally found the perfect home in the country, one of the things you should have inspected before going to the expense of a home inspection is the septic system.  Especially is the system is over 25 years.  A new septic system will cost you anywhere between $20,000 to $30,000 depending on whether the whole system needs to be replaced or just the bed or holding tank.  Also, the lay of the land is a factor i.e. rock, clay, sand, etc.

Sometimes, when the septic system is older some of the issues you might encounter is tree roots, blocked drainage pipes or even some of them have collapsed.

County living is fun but you must know what's what before removing your conditions.

1.  Bored Well
2.  Dug Well
3.  Driver point aka sand point
4.  Drilled Well
