The Appearance of real Estate

By
Real Estate Agent with Weichert Realtors HQ

Our business is so much based on appearance, appearances and how we present ourselves to the general public and to other agents.

Appearance is obvious no one wants to work with or be associated with a sloppy or unclean individual. Plus as we previously discussed proper business attire is essential.

Now appearances is important because we need to be making appearnaces...you thought I met something else I bet. We need to show up when we say we will and be on time.

How we present ourselves, we must at all times act like we are extremely successful and money is not an issue for us. No one wants to have a realtor sell their house who seems downtrodden or who seems unsuccsessful.

I was playing golf one day with a doctor an attorney and a businessman they all were very wealthy. In the midst of the round the eye doctor was speaking about the golf course and how it is a fairly reasonable one and he said "yeah sure to us it doesn't matter but to the average Joe it is important to keep costs down" he was not being a snob he was supporting some rebates going into effect. Then I realized I had made them think that I was on a par with them (no pun intended) money wise. Them thinking I was extremely successful led them to have confidence in my abilities and I eventualy have helped them with their real estate needs.

1.  You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

2.  IF you feel the need to diminish folks' expectations, you can manage to do that any time.  you don't have to do that the first time you meet them.

3.  Uh... Think I'll go shave now...

How a person will carry themselves and demand respect is crucial in any position. I try and put my best foot forward with all I meet.
