Doin' the Snoopy Dance: I Hit 100K Points Today!
Help me congratulate one of my team members for her dedication to Active Rain.
I'm SO doin' the Snoopy Dance right now. After 7 months, 195 posts (today's makes 196), 2885 comments made, 2667 comments received, 51 blog subscribers, 66 associations, creating 1 group, inviting 1 member to join, 1 featured post and 1 Active Rain workshop, I am please to announce that:

The points are great, but they are not the only reason I am doin' the Snoopy Dance. OK, the points are fabulous for a competitive soul like myself. I have to admit...I've wanted that little black box at the bottom of my photo ever since I first knew what it meant. And now I get one. Yippeee! However, what I found that is so much more valuable along the way to 100,000 points was a community of interesting, fun, sometimes nerve-wracking people that make logging onto the web as comfortable as a well-worn pair of jammies at the end of the day.
I have learned so much about making my blog posts better from Active Brad Andersohn, Jeremy Blanton and "sockless" Bob Stewart (not to be confused with "Shoeless Joe Jackson"). While they are not the only ones greasing the Active Rain wheel, they have been helpful to me in particular (I can be quite a squeaky wheel). Always there with helpful insight or figuring out a better way to make the Rain fall, these guys and their other Active Rain co-horts are what make this such a great community.
I have met some fantastic people here as well and made some genuine friendships along the way. Thanks to Active Brad and Bob Stewart's workshop held in Phoenix earlier this month, I was able to meet face-to-face with Carra Riley (the Cosmic Cow-Pie Queen), Lori Martinez and Miss Anna "Banana" (who made us all honorary "bananas"). And, while not face-to-face, I was happy to have become friends with Chris Fisher, a fellow virtual assistant and an extremely kind, generous and warm human being, and Mary Yonkers, a real estate teacher whom I will be meeting face-to-face soon.
I also learned alot from other fellow Rainers, like Lenn Harley, whom ALL of you have seen when you first look at the ActiveRain.com site, Miss C Tann Starr, the reigning (wordy) queen of all things Club Chaos, Michael Thornton, who know how to make blogs "POP", Russel Ray and his cool cat Zoey, who has some of the most amazing photos in his posts and is an all-around fun guy, Gary Woltal, always there with words of wisdom and sanity, and so many more that I couldn't begin to count them all!
OK, Bob. I know, I know. There are more links than there should be in a regular post, but I don't care! I'm done gushing about how happy I am to have met this milestone. I gotta go finish up my Snoopy dance now. I gotta figure out how to get to 200,000 points before the end of the year. (I told you I was competitive!) But first, I think I have to go do another Snoopy dance. Dah-dah-dun-dah dah dah daaah dah!
