Why Your Realtor® Won't Be Using An Ad to Sell Your Home Or Condo

By
Real Estate Agent with Village Real Estate Services, Inc.

We all decide to sell our homes for different reasons.  No matter what the reason, most everyone I meet here in Orange County, California wants me to help them sell their homes and condos in the shortest period of time, for the most money with the least amount of hassle

For years, print advertising was a great way to advertise properties that are for sale.  If you've met with a Realtor® lately to discuss selling your home, you may have been surprised when they told you they wouldn't be advertising your home in the newspaper or in a glossy magazine.  Watch this compelling video to see why...then ask your Realtor® how they will be using social media and other types of internet marketing to get your home S O L D...

If you or someone you know is thinking about buying or selling a home in Orange County California it would be my pleasure to work alongside to help. Helping you achieve your goals and dreams is what I get to do...it's my profession and my joy...I'm here to help!

Our greatest hurdle isn't, as an agent, understanding that print advertising is dead or dying, the greater hurdle is getting your seller to recogize that.

Marlene,

Good to see you back. I am very glad I no longer work in media. It becomes harder and harder all the time to sell ads for the traditional media -- newpaper, magazines, radio, TV.

Marlene: I still use all forms of media I can. There is a time for every purpose. Anyone who thinks they can reach all buyers in all markets with electronic media is mistaken.

Hi Marlene, I always enjoy reading your posts and this one is most pertinent to issues we face with our sellers.  While I concur with you, I usually place one ad up front just because it helps keep my seller's happy.  But I don't continue to run them time and time again as there are better ways to get the information out there.  Even Craigslist is better than print ads.

Well that was an eye opener!  I have given in to print advertising for those people who refuse to get a computer... in Homes and Land Maui.  At least it will reach people who are here on vacation, and maybe they left their "devices" at home.

Hi Marlene...Great Post, in Seattle at Rain Camp we watched a social media Video, it says the Average Times Consumers are online is 32 hours a week...that's more than TV.

Cheers, thanks for sharing :O))

Hi Sheldon -

Yup, this info is still appropriate.  As I become more familiar with new technology, I am even more convinced now than ever that this is a glimpse of even more exciting changes to come.

Hi Marla.  How's it going with you?  I've been a bit tardy in reading your posts and am checking them out today.  I hear California is on the recovery track, true?

Hi Richard,

Yes California is beginning to recover.  I've been scurrying about today getting my new listing onto MLS and doing maintenance on the rest.  I have a few buyers that I'm working with and some are cash buyers.  It's wonderful to see people able to get into home ownership for the first time too with the affordability index at a reasonable point, too.  How's it going in the islands?

Hi Mike,

I have a feeling I must have gotten reblogged.  This isn't a recent post, although still relevent. Hope all is well with you in Tucson.
