A convergence of positive news and macro events continues to propel Mobile county forward.  All these events and announcements seem to have created the early stages of a boom in principal homes, new sub-divisions, employment and consumer sentiment.

ThyssenKrupp joins several recent announcements from large multinationals who have chosen Alabama as the site of major US projects.  This site in Mobile county will see a minimum of 3.9 BILLION dollars in direct investment to build the plant.  These figures only hint at the impact of investments by support companies who will follow.

I'm a recent graduate May 07' who runs an L.L.C. subcontracting work from local HVAC mechanical contractors.  I also have a friend who is a recent college graduate May 06' who runs an investment group and brokerage in Pensacola, FL.  We always talk business and recently I've just started really grasping the future boom of real estate in Alabama.  I really want to invest now.  I want to partner NOW.  I want to identify private investors, public reits, whatever.  I've done research on possible target areas and of course the Thyssenkrupp plant is huge.  However the cat is out of the bag and unless you already have a network in place, it's slim pickings for areas supporting this new steel mill.  I'm looking for target areas such as McIntosh, Mt. Vernon, and Citronelle.  I want to do joint ventures with local developers, private investors, Reits, etc....  My college friend in Pensacola has the financial backing to  make things happen.

However we are both young and have limited contacts in the area.  I'm from Daphne and have resources and contacts throughout Alabama but it seems that I'm the only one my age trying to be a part of this potential huge boom in the area.  My network  in my age group 20-25 is more concerned with getting the starting job at 30K instead of looking at the big picture.  How can I get in touch with people in the thick of things.  How can I find out who the state of Alabama is talking to for future manufacturing as well.  A little birdy told me that Korean Investors are buying everything in Greenville.  They plan on building a Golf Academy for local enthusiast but foreign pupils as well.  Why would Korean investors put their money in this area unless more business is coming in.  Obviously there is the Hyundai Plant and I believe there is a Water plant near buy but what else?  How can I research topics such as this?  How do I get into the network?

I'm 23 and run a L.L.C. that brought in 150,000 revenue in its first year while I was attending school.  There's money to be made in my company but I think getting involved in this boom will ultimately bring me to the professional and personal level I'm seeking.  Young, New Graduate, Business Owner, looking to succeed.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
