A new bill has been introduced to the US Senate, S 1678, to extend the first time buyer's tax credit for another six months, making the deadline date June 1, 2010.  This bill has NOT been approved, just introduced to the Senate.

Industry supporters are also asking to expand the credit to ALL home buyers, not just first-timers and to eliminate the income caps so that "move-up" buyers may also be included which would further push the sluggish economy forward.  According to Dep't of Treasury data, approximately 530,000 Americans have applied for the credit.

Please watch you email and sites like this for additional information on ways to support this legislation and contact your government representatives.

I had no idea they was any interest in extending the program.  I am glad to learn this and will look forward to hearing more about it.

I would love to see the tax credit deadline extended to June 1, 2010.  I have some First Time Buyers that are afraid they are going to have to settle for a home in order to receive it.

Our area has sen a tremendous amount of activity for the first time home buyer. That is where most of the activity is coming from. Everyone in our area would love to see this tax credit extended. Thanks for the info!
