I have no idea when it happened, but at some point simplicity has caused either my brain to get smaller or my patience to dwindle.  It seems that the only phone that I can use for everyday tasks is my Iphone.

When making calls to clients at my office, I rarely even mess with my office phone anymore.  All the crazy buttons to push to dial out or access voice mail makes me crazy.  So instead I pick up my Iphone.

Last night, a friend texted my wife about an event going on today.  My wife asked me to text them back on her phone with our reply.  She does not have the touchscreen Iphone.  She has one of those keyboard flip phones.  I tried to operate it but after a few attempts, I gave up.  I went in the other room to grab my phone and in a matter of seconds I had the message typed and sent.

Maybe I am just spoiled but I have no idea how I operated without my Iphone a year ago.  Is it just me?

No way!  I'm right there with ya, but I'm addicted to my Blackberry Curve.  Can't get used to using anything else and I use it for everything.  My office phone is there for show...LOL

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Michael:

How interesting, that you consider your IPhone to be an asset. Was it challenging to learn how to use it?

Way too funny!  I'm like Kathleen.  I have the Blackberry Curve 8900.  If I try to use my wife's flip phone, forget it.  I'm in stupid land!  Great post!

I used to be able to remember people's names phone numbers, when my appointment with them was. Since I got a smart phone and started programming all this information in, I can't remember anything to save my life. God help me if it ever gets lost. Luckily I can synch it to my PC.

Michael --- I have heard others say the same thing --- I'm kinda addicted to my blackberry -- but I hear those IPhones are awesome.

Michael, you're not alone buddy. It's such an amazingly intuitive bit of technology, that all others just pale in comparison and I too find myself neglecting all the old ways. Keep up the good work! It's called progress :)

Kathleen - thanks for stopping by.

Lorraine and Loretta - I think the iphone is very intuitive.

Bob - thanks

Julie - same here.  that is also the problem with spell check...I use to be a good speller.  ;)

Lisa - to each his/her own.

Liz - the iphones are pretty cool.  It is the only thing by MAC that I own.

Ryan - your right, the others do pale in comparison.

Mike,

The interface is the most elegant, intuitive interface of any smartphone.

Hey Michael

Once you have lived the good life you don't want to go and live the old life and if we're pressured to do so it's as if they're just pulling us down. I'm in the same boat.

I held off buying a pda for years! I told my wife when a simple product came out that I could easily access web and files I would buy it. The iPhon met the criteria and it too has made me a freak.

The biggest thing I have noticed is that when I get home at night I don't have 2-40 emails waiting to be responded to. Fewer fires to put out in the evening and problems don't get as big as they could have since they are handeled faster.

I absolutely agree.  I just got an iphone a little over a week ago and I don't how I ever lived without it.  Life and business is so much easier.  I'll never use anything else.
