The Naples International Film Festival is the talk of the town. It is quite an event for Pelican Bay residents because the Film Festival opening night Gala will take place at the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts on November 5th at 7:00 p.m., which will be hosted by the NIFF co-founders: Eric Raddatz, Dan Linehan and Rowan Samuel. A film Premiere and music will be a delight for attendees. NIFF partnered with the Cove (www.thecovemovie.com) as the featured presentation for the gala.
The Naples International Film Festival will present a series of films and short documentaries by both local and International indepenent filmmakers in the fashion of Cannes. This event will be held at the hottest spot in Naples right now, Mercato, right at the Northend of Pelican Bay on Vanderbilt Rd. from November 5th to November 8th. The Silverspot Luxury Cinemas is a new concept in movie going experience offering leather seats and unique films, which include: The Cove, Bitter/Sweet, Favorite Son, The Human Experience, The Way We Get By, Ingreedients, Desdemona, Nerdcore, Li Tong, Momz Hot Rocks, True North, Official Rejection, A Bridge of Life, Shooting Beauty, The Back Nine, That Evening Son, The Baker. Shorts and children's films (a total of 30 independent films in 4 days).
The Naples International Film Festival emerged as an idea Eric Raddatz came up with, shared it with Dan Linehan while at dinner at Trilogy on Fifth Avenue South, and the rest is history! Eric's philosophy of creating and supporting cultural events, together with Dan's fostering of local artists (he is a former Charlotte homebuilder and now partner in Six Degrees Exhibitions and Ozone Computers), as well as Rowen's sales and marketing expertise, are a guarantee of the event's success.
I signed up to play in the NIFF golf tournament on Nov 7th. It will be fun! The 2009 NIFF Golf Scramble will be held at Pelican Marsh Country Club. Women play all holes from YELLOW TEES.
I'm supporting the event to contribute to filmmaking in Southwest Florida and because I love the cause: profits from the Naples Film Festival go toward supporting arts and cultural programs in Collier and Lee County Schools.
