I finally agree with Obama on something.....

Obama blanketed the airwaves Sunday, appearing on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and the Hispanic network Univision in a bid to promote his health care plan. But he also very deliberately used the unprecedented media blitz to chide those journalists who cover him, delivering a similar lecture on every network except Univision about the importance of changing the way media prioritize stories.

"The easiest way to get on television right now is to be really rude. If you're just being sensible and giving people the benefit of the doubt, and you're making your arguments, you don't get time on the nightly news," Obama said on ABC's "This Week."

"You might on Sunday morning," host George Stephanopoulos countered -- to which Obama said, "But if you say something outrageous, you're there in a hot second."

He is right, just ask Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer and any ACORN representative!!!

The news media really needs to get back to objectivity instead of chasing ratings. We're getting a lot of sensationalism and very little basic information.

It is not about sensationalsm, although that does get aired, it is about the media being one sided and NOT reporting a story until it id full blown and obvious that they MUST report it or look so stupid as they do now.

Obama is lecturing his own propaganda machine that never even vetted him before the election, helped him get elected, and refuses to report anything that will show how this president has lied to the American people to get elected.

Terry - I also strongly agree with this.  It seems like media (and our society in general) do more to encourage bad behavior these days.

Terry, The MSM will cover anything Obama wants to give them without question.  To date he has made 140 odd TV appearances or televised speeches.  At the same point in the administration Bush had 37 and Clinton 41.  More like "Billy Bigelow" than a President.

Now wait a minute... Terry, I can't disagree with the statement that you can get on TV by being rude or sensational, but the President is using that statement to say that those who disagree with him are being rude or sensational.  That is not the case - and I would like the President to respond to the concerns of the voters who put him in office (and are having second thoughts) and the legislators who have honest disagreements with his policies rather than the constant whine that is coming from the administration.

Van Jones was not smeared... Fox showed recent video of Jones presenting his own ideas in his own words.  We report - you decide, to coin a phrase.

Participants in the 9/12 tea party events are not (with isolated exceptions) racist nor ultra-conservative angry mobs.  They are voters, many of whom voted for the President (talk about buyer's remorse).  And we do not like being called names by the politicians (and the sexual reference the media thinks is cute is not appropriate).

It is time that the President go back and read the First Amendment and recall that free speech and the freedom to petition our government for redress of grievances are fundamental protected rights in our society.
