Who doesn't love an Airshow?....We have one of the most famous airshows in the world that happens every year practically in our own backyard....The Abbotsford  International Airshow.......but quite frankly the one in Toronto we saw a couple of weeks ago was one of my favorites.

On my last day in Toronto - Rachel and I chose to spend the day at the Canadian National Exhibition........it takes place every year on the last 2 weeks before Labor Day.  We have a similar one in Vancouver - The Pacific National Exhibition........but it was so much fun to experience the Eastern Experience.

We spent most of the day walking the grounds, midway, exposition buildings etc......but the highlight and the biggest surprise was the Airshow.  Somehow even with hearing the jets flying overhead the past few days - we never made the connection that the Airshow was happening during the CNE and at Ontario Place.

Thursday morning Rachel was woken up by what sounded like a 'jet crashing' she told me........and no sooner did she fell asleep again there was more...'the whole room was shaking' she said - she thought it was the 'end times' for a few groggy minutes......Whats amazing is these jets fly right above the city - like downtown!  Ours is out in the boonies........so this was quite the surprise!

So later Saturday morning while on the phone with Sylvie- she told us we had to Check out Ontario Place if we were already at the CNE.....After walking through the Farm building and making it through the other side we saw a crowd of people heading somewhere........and low and behold en mass they were parking themselves on the hillside by Lake Ontario preparing themselves for a 4 hour AMAZING display.

I took a ton of photos - but thought I'd make a collage of some of the highlights! It was Unbelievable!  Snowbirds, Bluebirds and More!

Liz - It looks like a great air show.  Great photos of the planes - pretty amazing watching them fly upside down.

Liz - Four days of great airshows each and every summer during the last four days of the Canadian National Exhibition, which ends on Labour Day each year.  I didn't have the opportunity to see the airshow this year but I was in one of the actual Snowbird planes.

Liz,

I was there too. It's interesting that the planes actually fly out of Trenton (near Belleville).

Because of their speed, they are here in slightly more than 5 minutes.

Liz, I LOVE airshows and you got some wonderful shots.  I always think of the Flying Formations when I see these magnificent planes.  Goodness, I'll have to find time to post mine soon, I've very late in posting and will still be showing summer photos in the winter just to catch up :)
