Here are a few of the road construction projects going on in our area. Frive safely and plan on delays as you head out of town for the cabin up north.
Hwy 610 in Maple Grove between Hwy 169 & 494 (5 Miles). Hwy 610 will be a new freeway between Hwy 252 in Brooklyn Park and I-94 in Maple Grove. Construction begins in 2005. Minimal traffic impact.
Bass Lake Road (CSAH 10) From Wedgewood Lane to Vicksburg Lane. Some short term closures possible. Completion scheduled for 2007.
County Rd 81/Elm Creek Blvd Another large-scale project underway is the realignment of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 81 from Fernbrook Lane to CSAH 30. This stretch of road is being realigned to make way for future TH 610. As a part of this project, CSAH 81 will be reconstructed with two lanes in each direction plus wide shoulders and turn lanes. There will also be improvements to Fernbrook Lane from Territorial Road to the railroad track south of CSAH 81. Territorial Road will be realigned through the old driving range, and Elm Creek Boulevard will be extended to CSAH 81. There will also be a pedestrian bridge constructed over CSAH 81 and future 610 leading to the Elm Creek Park Reserve. The summer of 2006 will bring with it some considerable progress on this project. A portion of the new CSAH 81 will open up and construction of Fernbrook Lane will occur. The project should be complete in 2007.
109th Lane N - From Zachary LaneTo Jefferson Highway: The Cities of Maple Grove, Champlin and Brooklyn Park are working towards the reconstruction and widening of 109th Avenue from Zachary Lane to Jefferson Highway. Once complete, 109th Avenue will have one lane in each direction with left and right turn lanes. Roundabouts will also be installed at the intersections of Zachary Lane at 109 Ave and at 109 Ave at Elm Creek Pkwy/Lancaster Lane. Construction has begun on this project. The road will be closed from Zachary Lane to Elm Creek Parkway starting on March 13 and going into October of 2006. A detour will be posted to guide traffic to 101 Ave.
State Route 101: at Wright County Road 42 - Major road construction, bridge constructionl exit ramp closed - follow the detour signs until November 15 - traffic will detour south to County Road 37.
