Another weekend dealing with SHORT SALES and @#$%$% agents

My client and I spent another weekend looking at Short Sales and made an offer on one that was listed about $20k below what it was worth, even as a Short Sale. We offered $21k over asking price. Sent in the offer by Fax, By Email, Left A message for the agent, sent her a Txt telling her I sent it, and NO CALL BACK. NOTHING. I called several times the next day and all her calls went to voicemail and HER MAILBOX WAS FULL. Checked the status this morning and it shows pending.

I guess these agents need to go back for ETHICS TRAINING!!! We'll have to see when it closes if they got more than what we offered? Even though there is nothing we can do about the sale, my client assumes it was the agents own buyer? or it was already under contract and she left it as active as so many agents do!

Something should be done to get rid of bad agents!!!

You're 100% correct, but there will always be agents that are inconsiderate, incompetent, or unethical.

Don't be too hard on that agent if you're not intimately familiar with what's going on in that agent's life. I have a database of people and businesses that I've had contact with, and when something like this happens, I put a strike next to the name. Three strikes, and they're out! Everyone has a bad day occasionally, but if it happens on a regular basis, then one has to think that it's the agent's modus operandi.

The same thing happens a lot here in California. They get so many offers and many cash offer that they just don't care about getting back to us!

Sorry to hear that, Richard...but look on the bright side...at least you got in to look at the property! Here in California, you're lucky to do that when agents have combo lockboxes only with no code listed in the confidential remarks...PLUS no call-back when you call them for the code!
