Fall in Florida

Florida - First Day of Fall!

First Day of Fall and in sunny Florida it's still nice and warm!

Nevertheless, while everything still appears green as can be, Florida does have a fall season although much more subtle.

The days have become noticably a little shorter lately, the leaves on certain trees are showing just a hint of color change.

Soon, the waters in the Atlantic ocean and the Gulf of Mexico will begin to feel cooler against the swimmers skin, our nights and early mornings will allow us to open our windows for fresh and cooler air without having to worry about letting air-conditioned air escape.

Fall will bring us some migrating birds making a stop in Florida on their escape from the cold that soon will hold northern areas in its grip.

And finally, here in Spring Hill as in other parts of Florida, we look forward to another very special migrating "bird species" that comes to us in Lincoln Towncars and Cadillacs via I-95!  Welcome back "Snow Birds"!

Happy Fall - enjoy the season!

Happy Fall!  What an exciting day it is, we are looking forward to cooler temperatures here in Louisiana.  Looks like we'll have to wait 'til next week.

Ah yes, the migrating birds and the migrating snowbirds.  My parents just attended an annual Snowbird meeting last week near Niagara Falls.  I think you will find the large cars are being replaced with more mid sized.  You will probably see more Altimas, Fusions, Malibu's, etc.  But you will know who they are by their licese plates.

Enjoy fall.

Hi Silvia :)

I reminded everyone of the  First Day of Fall in my sales meeting this morning!  That makes everybody very happy here in Phoenix!  It's getting down into the low 70's at night and early morning so that means we can start walking and hiking again - yeah!  And everyone is cleaning off their patios and getting ready for dinners outside again - for the next 9 months or so!

Bring on the snowbirds!  We love snowbirds!  They really are fun to work with - cause most of them like to gold and I love golfing with them!

Jenny, you're probably right, everyone is a little more aware of their gas consumption.  We made a move in the late nineties from Massachusetts to Florida ourselves and it happened in October.  I just remembered the long trek of cars heading south!

Anna 'Banana', we love snowbirds too!  And love dining outdoors again! It's true isn't it? Our summer months are a bit like northern winters when it comes to staying indoors.

Silvia,

Happy First Day of Fall! The colors are starting to change here too! I love the Fall weather and all of the wonderful colors. I am looking forward to it more this year, because of the long dry Summer.

Enjoy the changing season!!

Hi Hannah, you are right. Some of our most popular communities have clubs for just about every state!

Judy S., after several years of drought, we've finally been getting some rain this year and we won't mind getting some more.

Judy K., true, but we can always catch a nice little breeze along our beaches!  We are fortunate to live so close!

Some of those special migrating Snow Birds are from my neck of the woods in Indiana.  Lots of those snow birds dream of living in Florida year round.

Enjoy our snow birds through the winter but we look forward to having them back the rest of the year.  :-)

Sylvia...

You probably agree with me that it doesn't feel like fall. That summer heat is still thick in our air. At least in our neck of the woods it is. It's funny in a way. When winter does finally hit us I'll be whining about the cold :)

Hi TLW, same here.  Central Florida is a great place to be weatherwise.  Even when it does get "cold" like last year (hey, we had frost a few nights!), the sun will shine on us and daytime is pleasant enough!
