Peggy, I am afraid that political agenda is a higher priority than rational analysis of problems and solutions in Washington DC.
The duplicity of the current administration and Congressional leadership is astounding even to me - and I have been around a while. They say the purpose is to increase coverage and reduce costs, but they are willing to disrupt a system that is participated in by a significant majority who say they do not want the changes - and they do not address the obvious solutions available to reduce costs (interstate competition and tort reform). And they will still leave millions of people without coverage (citizens).
Horsepuckey. (to coin a phrase)
Thanks for the video. We do not tend to examine long term effects like limiting technical innovation.
I recognize that our capitalist system is not perfect and does not always benefit 100% of the people - but it has provided a higher standard of living for a higher percentage of the people for decades than any economic system on earth - with extraordinary returns to those who work and innovate to achieve them. Less government, lower taxes and less regulation works and has been demonstrated to work throughout the life of our nation. Killing the goose that lays the golden eggs is not a long tern strategy if you plan to live off the eggs in the future.
