Bank's Bullshit - Ever heard of a "BPAG"

By

Have you ever heard of a bank's BPAG?

Today I received an email from a Mortgage Loan Specialist at Wells Fargo claiming that the bank's BPAG needed an additional 7-10 days to underwrite a client's loan.

I'd never heard of a BPAG so I asked the "Loan Specialist" to explain it. He said BPAG is the "Builder Project Approval Group" - "a specialized group of underwriters that go into a more in-depth look into the Condo Association to ensure that they are financially sound".

I googled BPAG (and Builder Project Approval Group) but found nothing that matched what the Loan Specialist had told me.

I did however find matches for "The Book and Paper Arts Guild" and "The Botley Parish Action Group".

You must have missed it the BPAG is in the same bag as the TARP money being use for mortgages. You have it right.

Good luck and success.

I love the title.

Bullshit is bullshit.

Let's not try to paint it a pretty color.   Bank excuses are not pretty.

Where were all these protective groups when they would loan to anyone who could fog a mirror?

Never heard of this either -- but the banks come up with something new every week it seems.

That's a part of the "Secret Banker's Code".  Translation is: "We just need more time, because we don't pay enough money or hire enough people to process loans in the time frame we promised".

Aloha Stewart,

Never heard of that particular BS before but banks have one thing on their mind profit. Who owns the Bank or lender? usually it's actual owners are either German, French, or British and we are mere consumer cows to be screwed. That not to say the American banks don't screw American consumers but the money usually flows abroad.

Peace,

Perhaps the powers that be (at lenders like Wells Fargo) should take the time to update Realtors about their new criteria and policies. (Sort of using their initiative.)

The Loan Processor I was trying to deal tried to dismiss my enquiries on the basis that my client (the Borrower) hadn't confirmed in writing that I could talk to the bank.

Stewart - that's news to me as well. I'm suspicious but perhaps it is legit, however it sounds like another excuse for a delay. Seems to be there are other watchdogs that ought to be operating. While I like your suggestion in your comment I can't imagine it will ever get to fruition.

Gosh, this must just be a missunderstanding, we should trust Wells Fargo, it say so in their TV ads.  They don't advertise products or tell us about their great service (that would really be funny) just about how they sponser planting trees and cleaning up the beaches; a full public relations press.  But of course... who needs it more?  Well Ok, maybe Bank of America.

I think that BPAG means "Bank's Promise Another Glitch" to keep us waiting with absolutely no other reason except....because they can.

Or is that "Banks Posing as God"......
