The outcomes that we want don't happen by just reacting to what’s going on around us and letting people tell us what we have to do.

We have to visualize everyday.

If we can't visualize what we want to achieve, we can't make it happen.

We must be very clear about the results we want to achieve.

If you can help clients visualize their future, that means that you are comfortable with each other. When clients can tell you what kind of future they want, you will better understand how you can help them.

Imagine Your Journey Of Greatness

Everyone can benefit from imagining the journey of greatness within themselves and visualize what that journey looks like.

Then you must act it out. If things don’t work out the way you visualized, make some changes.

We grow by visualizing different of doing things in order achieve different results. A

Act As If You Are Already Successful

One element of visualization is visualizing who you are as a success, and then acting as if you are that person. success

In real estate, it can mean imagining you are now a top producing agent and then go about your day performing the same actions that a top producing agent would.

Just how would such an agent conduct his or her day?

Would they spend time prospecting, following up on calls, contacting past clients, building up a sphere of influence?

How much time would they really spend on unproductive actions?

When you start to duplicate those actions, soon enough you will find yourself at that level.

Go for it....don't you deserve it?

Absolutely.

One thing for sure, folks who achieve success are not usually surprised.  They have planned for it, visualized it and worked hard for it.

Larry, I couldn't agree with you more.  If you can SEE it, you will often achieve it no matter what the odds!

That is so true. I especially find it helpful when I am golfing and visualize me hitting the golf ball just right. Golfing is my relief for the stress of work.

I just read a great book about this by Johnnie Johnson.  For many years, his mother visualized a red brick house with a clothes line in the back yard.  When Johnnie made into the NFL, he bought his mom her dream home.

I had a client once who wanted to buy a house not on the market that had title issues.  Even though I agonized behind the scenes trying to get this deal closed and thought we would never do it, she created a Vision Board loaded with pictures of HER house.  She still lives there today!

I agree with you. it seems to happen all the time. The big question for most is how to maintain focus.

Larry - I agree with you 100%!  Have you read "The Secret"?  It changed my life!  I have vision boards that I focus on daily.  If for some reason I don't see happening what I want to happen, I focus my thoughts to that area.  I write down my negative and positive beliefs about it (could be money, personal, business, etc.).  I leave behind my negative beliefs and focus on the positive ones.  It's truly working!  My future is BRIGHT!!!

Larry, right on.  You can't visuaize with a poor attitude.  Negativity prevents us from focusing and imagining ourselves succeeding.  Attitude and visualization go hand in hand.

This is a great post, if you act successful and do not doubt yourself you will achieve the success you desire.

I liked this post and so jumped across to read more on your site.  I personally struggle at times with trying to compete in a very closed market. I know I will get there, but I know it takes times. At least now I know what I want and don't bother anymore with what I don't want.

WOW!  I just taught a three hour training course to my agents last week about this very thing!  We talked about goal setting, business planning, marketing strategies, mission and vision statements and I said a lot of these very things to them.  So true...not having a concrete vision of where you are going is like getting in your car and trying to drive from California to New York without a map or GPS!  Great post!

I can see that you are right. The important lesson here I think is to get a new mindset on that focus every day! Thanks!

I love Steven Covey and his books. One piece of advice is BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND, which is a very similar philosophy. Or, as Pat says above, FAKE IT.

I once read a saying, If you want something different you must do something different. When you think about it, it makes all of the sense in the world.

Larry, visualization is everything. We are what we perceive we are. I normally wear dress slacks or jeans. One week about 2 months ago I experimented with wearing a dress every day. I noticed a difference in my attitude. I thought better of myself and had more confidence. And I think other people had a different attitude toward me that week.

And it was contagious. Another agent followed suite and wore dresses. I saw an improvement in her attitude too.

I have put a dream board on the wall of my cubicle with pictures of what I want. My dream car (a Cadillac) my dream house and the dream vacation my husband and i want to take to Australia. It keeps me motivated my seeing these things and seeing myself aquiring them.

Larry,

You're begining to sound like Anthony Robbins. Maybe you'll go on the speaking tour.

Larry, great post you capture your audience, mixing it with great learning's, it is what we believe in our subconscious, sometimes it plays games...

This was good. I will try and erase the "negative" files in my subconcious mind when I am practicing this.

I want to hear about Law of Attraction too...

Anyone?

It's important to note that visualization can't be done in the brain, it has to be felt/seen  in the heart with emotion.  The heart is the only Chakra that has both male and female energy, therefore it is the only place where visualizing can really create the desired outcome.  The brain is only male energy and can't create by itself.  So when visualizing practice breating in and feeling where you want to be in your heart.
