Are we telling our elected officials to extend the $8,000 tax credit? Just got this from NAR. Please read it and respond, http://takeaction.realtoractioncenter.com/campaign/hbtc?qp_source=actionmargin it will only take you a few seconds to fill it out and send it on to your congressman and senators.
s much as I want this to extend for obviuos reasons, it is an addition to govt spending so if I am really concerned about cutting spending it has to come from lots of places. So I cannot go along with the extension even though it benefits me.
Charlie; I admire your principles, but this will help the buyers, sellers, and the move on upers. Plus the extended vendors.
Hi Ken - I am not sure I am in favor of an extension. Are we in danger of creating a bubble based on artificial demand? The car sales numbers - post Cash for Clunkers - are dismal. Do you see any possible comparisons post $8k tax credit? I am interested in hearing what everyone thinks.
It will be a tough sell on the Hill to extend this tax credit. I believe the American people want Mr. Obama to stop spending money to make money. It works on a short term and hurts in the long run. Let the market correct itself.
Good morning Harry; Thanks for the comment. I love to hear "the other side".
One extension will help those who are just realizing they could actually buy a house. Two extensions may not be useful.
Kenneth, I really don't see much of a downside to the extension. Not only will it continue to enable more people to buy homes, but if job creation is necessary for our recovery, this will help in that arena as well.
Heath: thanks for the comment. Let's give it a shot.
Greg: thanks for stopping by and telling it like I see it.
I am for it..sell houses, inventory shrinks, prices stabilize or rise, tax base increases, construction jobs increase...Only down side - more government spending.
