We need to start viewing good news as, well, good news!

Lately here on Active Rain and in the news media in general I've been reading and hearing a lot of positive signs that our economy and the housing market are starting to turnaround.

And yet with each piece of good news there's the "yeah but".  Now, I'm no pollyanna, pie in the sky, rose tinted glasses, everything is great type of person by any means.  But I have grown a little tired of all the naysayers.

How do we as a country, as an economy, expect to pull out of these duldrums if all we keep looking at is the downside to everything.  I know the job market has not picked up yet.  But that is ALWAYS the lagging indicator coming out of any recession.  And I know there will probably be many more foreclosures in the future.  But we didn't get into this mess overnight, and we won't magically get out of it over night either.

As any Wall St. expert will tell you the market is driven more on emotion than logic.  If the general public sentiment is good the market tends to respond in kind.

Again, I'm not saying that we are out of the recession and everybody should return to the halcyon days of 2003-2006.  But can we please accept good news as simply good news? Without sh*&#ing all over it.

I could not agree more. People don't realize how many purchases they make based on emotional ties. We need to all be a little more positive these days and make the best of what we have got!
