602 houses for sale sold in Washington DC for the month of August. According to this graph,most of the houses for sale sold were over $500,000. However that doesn't mean that you can't afford to buy a house in Washington DC. Deanwood DC zip code 20019,houses are selling in the $130,000 price range. Houses in Anacostia DC zip code 20020 are selling in the upper 150's.  And DC houses for sale in Congress Heights DC zip code 20032,houses are selling in the mid 120's.

However in Trinidad DC zip code 20002,average home price of houses that are being sold in that area is in the mid $350,000. Houses for sale in NE DC Brookland  zip code 20017,houses are selling in the lower 220,000's. And NW DC Petworth zip code 20011,average price of houses selling in that area are in the 340,000.

Out of the 602 home buyers who brought a house in Washington DC,311 of them used a conventional loan,156 of them used a FHA Loan and 21 home buyers used a VA Loan.
