The orchestra is your life . . . YOU are the conductor!

Guess what folks?

We're not out of the woods yet.

Don't let yourself fall prey to the misguided (IMHO) judgment of some folks that the economy has hit bottom and will be soaring any day now.

There's plenty of crazy stuff on the horizon, and the fat lady is not even warming up to sing.

This is NOT a doom-and-gloom message.

It IS a CALL TO ACTION for you to take yourself and your business VERY seriously.

Like it or not, YOU are the conductor of your life.

If things are going well, it's YOUR fault . . .

Not so well?

Still your fault.

What's a conductor do?

Create beautiful sound from a literal potential cacophony of noise.

Before the show starts, you hear the musicians tuning their instruments . . . With No apparent unified rhyme, reason, or melody . . . until the conductor takes the podium . . . All that noise magically assimilates into song.

This conductor is LEADING many different personalities and levels of talent towards accomplishment of a joint purpose/goal . . . a fantastic performance.

Have you ever seen a meek and humble conductor?

I haven't . . . they are haughty, proud, invincible, strong, TAKE CHARGE individuals who demand nothing but the best from their musicians and get great results . . . and with those results, their value increases.

The same batch of musicians perform differently with different conductors.

How's your self esteem?

Do you allow other people to determine your own self worth?

Be careful about whose opinions you take stock in because YOU are ultimately responsible, right?

So .  . .

How do you select your musicians for the orchestra of your life?

Will you allow anyone who walks through your door with an instrument to play or proclaimed talent?

How do you (If you do) audition these folks.

Are you LEADING . . . or standing in the wings?

If you are not leading, who is?

This is YOUR life we're talking about, not anyone else's.

In business through these uncertain times especially, it's never been more critical for YOU to step up your game and to be very careful about who you allow into your orchestra.

This is a time when nothing but optimal performance and teamwork is acceptable.

Be BOLD!

NOW!

Conduct your orchestra with confidence.

Remember the 3 Ls (Leads LISTINGS and Leverage), watch your money/spending closely, and be VERY careful about who you invite to play in your orchestra.

We're all watching :-)

I'm just sayin'

Best,

b

Great post Barry.  I really like the inspirational tone to this article.  We do have to be responsible for everything we do.
