Charming Vero Beach is known as the "Gateway To The Tropics". Vero Beach is located in a climate transition zone that offers an unusual mix of vegetation found in the coastal Carolina's. Ancient Oak trees blend with swaying Palms and colorful blooms typical of the tropics. Vero Beach is a gentle, sophisticated and unpretentious town, and has become home to America's cultural and corporate elite. This quaint setting blends small-town charm and natural beauty with cultural sophistication and outstanding amenities. The mild annual climate makes golf, tennis, boating, fishing and surfing year-round pursuits. A vibrant arts community enriches resident's lives. Sports and entertainment provides delightful diversions.

Carefully preserved natural settings provide recreation and education. The wide Intracoastal Waterway leads to one of the deepest ocean inlets in Florida, accommodating large yachts and world-class fishing. And of course, there's the beach, with miles of pristine sand and the Atlantic Ocean stretching as far as the eye can see.

Living in Vero Beach is living in paradise.

Barbara,

Great post! I used to vacation on Vero Beach as a child and have many fond memories of those days.

Jack,

It has not changed much and that is what the locals like about it.  Gloria Estefan has bought a house here on the beach. She has also bought a hotel that she is refurbishing to resemble a South Beach hotel. It is due to open in January of 2008.  It will have a Cuban restaurant and a nightclub called Coconuts, she and her friends will perform here on a regular basis.  I'm looking forward to that.  Thanks for commenting.
