Going Green & Recycling Changes in Sun City Grand Surprise Arizona

Going Green & Recycling Changes in Sun City Grand Surprise Arizona

As a full-time resident in Sun City Grand, I am extremely excited to announce that Sun City Grand residents no longer have to take their other recyclable items to the fire station.  Presently, Parks and Sons picks up newspaper only for recycling and residents take their other recyclable items to the fire station.

Parks and Sons has just announced that beginning October 1, 2009 the following materials will be added to curbside recycling: aluminum, boxes, cardboard, plastic (1 & 2) and glass.  Collection days will remain the same.  Just place your recyclables at the curb no later than 6:00 on the collection day.  Your cardboard box or reusable container will not be taken.  Set the recyclable items at the end of your driveway on the opposite side of your underground can. Residents do not have to sort or separate recyclables from one another.

Parks and Sons donates a considerable amount of recycling revenue to charitable organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Interfaith, Wide Side Food Bank, Hospice of the Valley and Sun Valley Animal Shelter.

The best news is that there will be no additional charge to Sun City Grand residents!

Newspapers?  Newspapers?  I suspect the demand for newspapers is WAY DOWN; however, I suspect that the separation of items at the consumer end is a "feel good" for them as the items are AGAIN hand sorted in the recycling center.

I DO like the PRICE!!!!
