Thanks for posting this. I was wondering if any of you up north would post a blog about it. The whole parade cracks me up. Today was a bit chilly for naked painted cyclists!

On that second photo, there's a guy on the right holding on to the seat.  He's on a skate board.  When he got to us he turned to the guy and said "What exactly ARE you holding on to back there?"  Rhonda almost passed out and turned bright red. LOL

Hi ARDELL,

Well, I see that you spent a quiet, wholesome, uneventful yet culturally enriching day in Rain City yet again LOL.  We don't have naked cyclers here, actually we don't have anything naked in Claremont unless you count Naked Juice.

But every year in Laguna Niguel we do have the annual Mooning of Amtrak and Mooning of MetroLink It will happen this year on July 14 all day long.  And when I used to live in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles near West Hollywood, I went to their Mardi Gras celebration a couple of times.  Nobody was "officially" naked, but I did see one poor man wearing clear plastic swim trunks (it was a very cold night so I don't think he was getting the result he had hoped for :-)

Take care, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

It helps if you start with a nice unwrinkled "birthday suit!"  :-)

So what was he holding? Is everything ok over there or is this another transparent attemp to show your love for painted men and women.:) LOL! The yellow lady looks like she needs to eat a bit! Hey...does the guy have a jell seat?

Tisza!  Yeaterday at the Parade, I was talking about something that happened in West Hollywood every year, but I thought it was Halloween...?

Sandra,

I tried to select the most artistic ones.  Deboray and Rhonda may have captured some that are more "wrinkled".  It's hard to get the photo as the roll by AND make sure the arm placement is just so for the guys.  I can't find the pirate photo.

Neal,

Just trying to do a fluff piece on local events...not my forte.

ARDELL,

In WeHo (West Hollywood for those "in the know LOL) there is something going on just about every night.  But you are quite right - Halloween is one of the to biggest events there (the Gay Pride Festival and Parade would be the other).  On Halloween people come from miles around, families bring their kids and everyone just has a good time, enjoys the costumes, the artistry and the paegantry.  The close off Santa Monica Boulevard for several blocks to everything except foot traffic and it is a giant party/parade in the street.

There is also a Halloween street party in Downtown Hollywood.  But the crowd is not a friendly, there are hardly any families and the costumes are usually not anything to write home about.   If you are in the area on October 31, head to WeHo.  You will have a wonderful time, but get there early because parking can be difficult, and as the sun goes down, the parking fees for the lots go up.

Take care,

Tisza

ARDELL, that was too funny seeing the creativity and exuberance at the parade!  There was a little extra "exuberance" on display when a couple of painted cyclists got off their bikes and hula hooped for the crowd!  Rhonda was enticed by a splendidly made-up and dressed parade participant to pose for a photo in mid-parade!

Ardell... love it. Now that looks like a good time! Feels very LA, actually. As fluff goes, this certainly qualifies. Larger photos would have been nice on this one. :)

Ardell - I'm so glad you posted this!  I went last year for the first time and had a blast with my girlfriends.  Everyone was in such a great mood and we loved the shopping.  We were coming from Kirkland and had missed the parade due to traffic.  This year, I had a last minute opportunity to go enjoy some sun in Eastern Washington.  I just posted Vacation Home Ownership - One Step Closer to Retirement about Desert Aire and simple financing if you're interested in commenting.  I have subscribed to your blog after finding you to be so resourceful.  Glad to see you're out there having fun!

I have fun every day Melissa!  I love getting houses ready for market.  It's more like my hobby than my job.  Finished one up yesterday and have an offer already.  I may post those photos just because I'm proud of the staging and photography.  I'm thinking of going to Wednesday Market in Kirkland and Blogging on that this week.  We have to get all of our "fluff" posts in while the sun is out around here.
