Consider it pure Joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. James 1:2
This past week could only be described as ....WOW.
Rather than putting all the details out there, I just wanted to say thank you so much for those who responded to my request for prayer. My week actually got better after having some issues with other agents, and attacks from the enemy of my destiny.
I received a phone call from Thesa Chambers, REALTOR®, Sunriver, OR and I wanted to say a special thank you to her, for being so kind and for the encouraging words she spoke to me!
I have blogged that I took a leap of faith and left my job. I recently received an assignment, to go back for one month to final my books, and put out any fires that might have been started by my departure. I took this assignment, not for the money, but out of obedience and a heart willing to do whatever God asks me to do.
I am reminded of the story of Jacob, who given the task of earning his wife had to work twice as hard to earn what he wanted, knowing that if he gave up, he would lose all of the hard work and sacrifice that he had endured to earn the wife of his heart.
He had to work twice as long as he thought he would have to work, and during that time, they took advantage of him, kept upping the ante of his long awaited prize, they even tricked him into marrying someone else. But still, he kept working, kept pressing in. In all, he gave up over 14 years of his life to earn what he wanted, his beloved Rachel.
What is the Rachel in your life? What goals have you set for yourself to achieve, that line up with the desires of
your heart that have yet to be fulfilled?
I am grateful for the reminder in the word about Jacob. His story put things into perspective for me this week. What I learned this week from Jacob, that anything that is worth having, is worth the extra effort and work, as well as the perseverance to see the goal through to its fruition.
It might not be as easy as we would like, but in the end, we'll appreciate the fruit of our labors that much more.
May your weeks be blessed with abundance, pressed down and overflowing with his grace.
