No, this is not a companion peice to my Man-Child Farming, but it is nonetheless something to think about.  Let's do an analysis of not why two chickens crossed the road, but what they might have been thinking and saying while they were crossing.

"Duck!"  The taller and older chicken screamed to the other.

"Wow, good thing it was a monster truck," his little buddy chuckled.

"Hurry up," the older one commanded, thinking: this little guy's too busy checking out the muffler on that truck.

"I'm coming, I'm coming," the little one fires back, thinking: he's so bossy; always in a big hurry, never takes time to smell the road.

Arriving at the center lane dividers...

"Whew, close call, Irving," the little one said, nodding, slapping his senior with his wing feathers.

"Why, why, why...you're an accident to happen, Pipper."

"Don't be so up-tight.  I'm not only quick, I can fly."  The young one boasted.

"Fly?  You can't fly, you're a chicken.  Chickens don't fly!"

"Why not?"

"We've never flown."

"Why not?"

"Don't know exactly, but I think it's always been that way," Irving cocked his head.

"Why?"  Pipper asked.

"It's how we're built," Irving said convincingly, "live with it!"

That's right, live with it -- ever heard that in your real estate practice?  Does this story remind you of anyone?  Were you like Pipper as a young realtor, or do you have a Pipper working for you today?  Maybe you hear an occasional, "Why not?"  Maybe an occasional, "Why?"

Bottom line question to answer with young Pippers and more experienced Irvings: At the end of the day, did you both make it across the street?  That really is the goal, isn't it?  Some get there by ducking, dodging, running, skipping, walking...and some by flying!  But if we get there together, it sets the stage for greater things to come!

Or there will be road kill and even that will be useful because some one will pick up the pieces.

You know success, Alex.

You're optimistic, Doug.

You're probably right, Jay (I'll give you 3:1 Pipper makes it in the business).
