I don't get it so please, someone, anyone, help me understand. Why do agents request  a call to them to obtain the lockbox code when they don't use the MLS lockbox and then never call back with that information? The MLS indicates the listing as active and yet no call from the agent. Please, someone, explain to me how this is a benefit to the client and how they are getting their listing sold? I'm very puzzled.

Gaylen, I only wish the sellers knew...that's my favorite line...everytime this stuff happens to me...no call backs, full voicemails, can't show, but should, etc......

Gaylen - So you are experiencing the same thing I am.  I thought it was that the listing agent didn't want to talk to me personally.  I have even made calls to their office during the middle of the day, only to get a recording.  I agree that this is frustrating, especially when you have ready, willing, and able buyers.

Troy, unfortunately this is happening more and more and I have made a number of calls to brokers who don't return calls either, which tells me a lot about the company.

I fortunately don't see a lot of this happening in the Seattle area but something does "get my goat" that I see from agents at certain brokerages, which I absolutely won't name. But what they do is put their number in the phone to show section of the MLS listing - a clear violation. Just so they can monitor who is showing the home. They can clearly look up that info using the appropriate methods but they take up our time using their number, then awaiting a response - usually something along the lines of, "okay, I just wanted to know who was showing it. Go ahead."

Now that our MLS is responding more harshly to this violation, I'm hoping it goes away.
