"Dinah laughs at the Queen of EverythingI apologize. I forgot you were a princess," I told my daughter. It was her turn to wash the dishes and put them away. Her room was (is) a disaster and she thinks she should quit her job because she dosn't like it. She also complains that this makes her tired.

Poor Princess. Thank God she is of a Royal Bloodline (LOL) and has the option of sleeping in, staying out late, doing what ever she pleases and knowing that her humble servants (her Dad and I) will be picking up the pieces as they plummet to the ground.

NOT!

Some people have unrealistic expectations. My dear daughter will be needing her job to pay her Dad and I rent if she does not get off her butt and do her chores. She can stay up late but she will be tired in the morning and her boss wont give a ... She is also free to trash her room and have her Mom condemn it. and she will then have the luxury of the couch without any privacy from her sisters.

Life is about choices.Your Choices lead you down a path.

Just like my daughter, some people can have an unrealistic view of what it will take to get what they want. Some people in the housing market today don't have a clear perspective of what they will sell or buy a home for. That is why you hire an agent. They will be with you every step of the way. When selling a home they will share pricing and marketing strategies. If you are buying a home they will help you find a good lender and put together a plan that works for you and your budget.

Trust the professionals. A lot of hard work goes into finding a great home and it should not have to be yours. Sit back and be the Princess, but listen to your advisers they have your goals at heart.Remember good Agents take good care of thier clients, and when they do everybody wins!

I seem to be working with a couple of princes right now.......at least in terms of what they want.  They don't seem to have a royal checkbook though!

Ann- Isn't that always the case.

On a side note while I was talking to my daughter about our issues she looked as thought she was taking it all in. Then when I asked her a question she repied with - You know if I am silent and bite my lip while you are talking to me ...you think I am listening...She was right!

Watch for that one!

Good parents must exercise tough love in telling their children what they may not want to hear.  Sometimes it may sound like nagging, harping, lecturing, etc., but at some point they will get it.  I have some clients who act like children, and I find myself pulling my parenting skills out of the closet (my kids are grown) all over again.  As I said, eventually they get it :)

Dinah, I've had a rash of child like clients lately...we do a lot of hand holding.

When my daughter was younger and dating, she was seeing a boy 20 years old that had only worked about one month in his entire life...he got headaches when he worked...fortunately she didn't stay with that headache too long!

Dinah:  You are going to LOVE this one!  My daughter is now a senior and gets out of school early.  She is already whining that I don't take her out to lunch like I did my son.  Well my son helped me with REO properties (he did actual re-keys and helped with minor trash outs and repairs and the data entry for BPOs.)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yesterday I had to go clean out the pool on a home for a buyer that we had short sale acceptance on Monday for and fill it up for appraisal and inspections.  This house had dead cockroaches all over the inside and I thought princess was gonna lose her lunch.  We made her help us clean up the debris from the bottom of the pool (they get a $100 allowance every time I have a house close too.)

She b**ched and moaned the whole time.  My 20 year old son got in the car and told her "you never heard the saying there is no such thing as a free lunch?"

LOVE IT.  I didn't even have to say it!  She jumped in the shower right when we got home.
