Many years ago, back in the early 1980's, we had a murder mystery party and I asked the guests to come dressed as a famous detective.  I came across these photos recently and thought it might be fun to see how many of these crazy sleuths you can identify.

Some of them are more easily recognized than others.

A word of caution:  guessing correctly automatically dates you!

Well, I wasn't yet born in the 80s. Yeah, right!!!!  LOL.

Anyway, looks like we have Clouseau, Magnum, Kojak and Charlies Angels. Not too sure about the top right.

Great photos though!

OMG I LOVE these pictures BUT I can honestly say that I would have only gotten you, Eleanor, and Linda as Charlie's Angels.  TFS!!!!!

Without looking at the other comments first, I am guessing Sherlock; Magnum PI, Kojack, Charlie's Angels.  Took me a minute on Kojack.

I'm going with Columbo, Nancy Drew & Hardy Boys, Magnum, Kojack and Charlies Angels.  Somehow the outfit is off for both Sherlock Holmes or Columbo so I just figured I say something different.

Wow, you guys are really old!

Sonja, Steve and Judy:  Great job!  Thanks for playing along.

Wanda:  You would be the first to correctly name all of the pictures!  Congratulations on being so brilliant!

Kylah:  Aren't the pictures funny!  You were just a baby, back then...if you were even born at all!

Donna:  Excellent, but you missed Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys.

Cindy:  Great job, but you should have stuck with Sherlock!

Wild parties in the 80's. That's so great that you found them and had us guessing.

Lou:  Sorry, but he is supposed to be Sherlock Holmes.  The magnifying glass is the clue!

Marianne:  I loved the Mod Squad!

Jim:  We did it a couple of times, it was really a good time and we had a lot of laughs.

Lee and Carol:  I don't know about "wild" but we did have fun!

Janna:  Thank you!

Cynthia:  We used to have family parties all the time that involved costumes or themes.  Not so much anymore.  This party was a murder mystery and each guest was to dress as a detective.  I even had a recording of "Charlie"  greeting everyone like he used to greet the angels.

It was a lot of fun!  I do have a crazy family and they are pretty much up for anything.

In the interest of not dating myself, I shall answer that PI is

3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510

I got 10 points on my high school advanced chemistry final exam for memorizing Pi out to 50 decimal places. Surprisingly, I still know it. And I'm still just as geeky -- LOL.

Russel:  Isn't it funny how certain things just stay with us forever and then others, like something from yesterday, is gone forever!  When I was very young, preteen, a neighbor taught me and my brother how to bless our self in Gaelic.  We both still remember the words.  Thanks for the interesting twist to my blog...very impressive!

Hi Sharon:

Those photos were great!

That had to be fun...

I remember all of the shows too.  Good job with everyone dressing up.

The first one had me wondering whether is was Sherlock Holmes or Columbo.  The others were pretty easy!
