To be a successful social networker, you need to get potential clients to accept your friend request.
Here's three tips for getting your friend requests approved and quickly building your friend list:
i. If the site has a feature that tells you who is currently online this is a great tool. Search to see who is online and send every one of them a friend request. You will find that most of your requests will be immediately approved.
ii. The more mutual friends you have the easier it is to grow your network. The best way to do this is to make friends with someone with a large real estate friend list and then invite all of that person's friends to be your friend. When they receive your friend request they will see that you have at least one mutual friend and they will probably accept your request.
iii. Include a personal message with the friend invitation. Make sure you personalize the invitation by including a first name and a piece of information that indicates you know something about your new friend. An example would be to view their profile and then say something like "Hi Kelly, we're members of the same Facebook real estate group" or "Hi Diane, I noticed you sell real estate in the Dallas market" or "Hi Mark, I saw your post asking about the $8000 first time buyer tax credit".
Just follow these three simple tips and you can expect about 70% of your friend requests to be approved.
