Beautiful photo - I love visiting the coast, it's one thing we miss here in Montana, lots of mountains but no ocean. Thanks for posting.

Yvette & Dennis - The water and the peaceful setting of the community make Oyster Bay a very desirable place to live.

Kevin & Monica - Each area has different attributes.  My husband told me it is such a beautiful state.  He enjoyed his stay at a summer camp there when he was young.

Rosalinda,

Beautiful setting, but the water looks a bit choppy. Still quite pretty and refreshing. :)

Rosalinda, The color of that water is so inviting even if the water is a little choppy.  It must have been a truly beautiful day when you took this photo.

Charles - I wonder if Billy Joel sings that song while watching the boats go by.  I don't know if that is his house across the bay.

Steve - It was very windy in early October last year when I took the picture.  You can see the leaves starting to turn colors.

Judi - We had the Oyster Festival that day at the park by the bay and I was at the dock at the Waterfront Center with my camera ready.  It was a bit cold and windy.

Trey - The answer is Yes.  Frank M. Flower & Sons, inc. has been growing Pine Island Oysters since 1887 in Oyster Bay.  They keep the bay very clean.  They plant oyster "seeds" in the bay to grow and then harvest them and sell to Long Island and New York City restaurants.  During the two-day Oyster Festival, (Oct. 17-18) they supply all the oysters that are cooked, sold and eaten at the festival.

Oysters are one of the few food items that I just cannot eat, the others being eggplant and okra gumbo.

Russel - I can't eat oyster also if it is raw which some people do.  I like oyster stew.  Eggplant parmigiana if cooked right is delicious and I love eating fried okra, a Southern favorite, when we go to Charleston.

Rosalinda,

A bit of a chop on the water that day. Love the color.

Rich - It was so windy that day, I would not want to be on a boat that day.
