JOHN, Thanks and I have enjoyed your family also.
RENE, I'm so thrilled I can't tell you. It is so fun to just pick up the phone and call our son whenever I want to.
VANNA, I can ditto your comment. I also glad our son is home safe and sound!!
RUSSELL, Thanks for coming along this journey with me. It is so much fun to see him adapting to life as a college student. I'm a proud Mama!
PAUL, Congrats on the birth of your grandson. It will be interesting to see what 200,000 brings.
JOAN, Thanks! I'm proud of both of my children. By the way we had a great trip to Rhode Island but didn't get to see much fall color. They were just starting to turn.
GEORGE, I can't tell you how thrilled I am that 400,000 points has NOTHING to do with Iraq!!
JOHN, Thanks! They are wonderful young adults!! I'm a proud Mother!
ART, I would love to see the day when we are not sending our young people to harms way. I'm not sure when that will happen though.
Isn't it amazing how Active Rain ties into what's going on with our families when we are so busy and involved here??
Hi Marchel, Love this memory post! I am so glad that your son is back home safe and sound, and I'm also glad you sent me to a previous post to learn the snipping tool! How easy is that!! Thank you Marchel.
Great post! I don't remember points milestones so much as just looking for the cool numbers. If I did land exactly on a number that had five zeroes in it, that would be pretty cool.
"Your very welcome my friend"
Hi Marchel...Congratulations on the win. Even better was the safe return home of your son.
Kate
Evening Marchek, Terrific walk down ( your ) memory lane. And the return of your son !
Congratulations on winning 1st place. This is a great post and you certainly deserved to win... I enjoyed reading this post the second time around.
Congratulations on your 1st place! I enjoyed reading your post again and really like how you tied you points..I know how grateful you must feel to have your son home safe and sound!!
Hi, Marchel!
Those were lovely posts about your son returning home to Texas. It must be wonderful to have him back and in school.
Congratulations!
Robin
JUDY, It has been almost eerie the way AR and my sons Iraq tours happened. I'm very happy to be approaching 400,000 and no landmarks!
MARY, Thanks! It is so cool to pick up the phone whenever I want and I can call him!!
RUSSELL, I will have to watch what happens when I hit the 400,000 but it is hard to land on those exact numbers. I had help with that 200,000 post.
KATHLEEN, The win was VERY COOL but our son being home safe and sound is VERY, VERY COOL!
BILL, Thanks for sharing my AR memory walk.
JOAN, Thanks for coming back and reading the second time around. This is my first time to win a contest and it is very cool because it relates back to my favorite two post of all time.
DORIE, Thanks for stopping by again. YES I am so THRILLED that our son is now a college student. He is doing GREAT in college!!
ROBIN, It is wonderful having him home. He left a boy and came home a man.
Wow! I just saw the 200K and here you're already at 300K-amazing!
Michelle, There was actually quite a bit of time between the 200,000 post and the 300,000;I am actually almost to 400,000. I don't put a ton of post out a week maybe 2 to 3 but I am consistent. Nothing special is happening at 400,000 and I'M TOTALLY OKAY WITH THAT!! It is so much fun to have our son safely home and a college student, boring is good!
Marchal you have so much to be thankful for, your son obviously has made you proud, but I know you are also thankful for all of us at Active Rain
Marchy, I just loved it! Beautiful post and great reading....although I knew all this. That's pretty cool too if you think about it. We have been buds for a long time now and all because of Active Rain! Congratulations on your win. Well deserved my friend.
Marchel - A very moving post. Glad your son is back safe and sound. You have such wonderful family - two children serving our country. God Bless our military! Congratulations on your win! I missed this contest. I didn't see the announcement.
I forgot to log in. Too early, my brain is not functioning yet.
Congratulations on a well-deserved win! I'm sure those two milestones will be forever linked, and never forgotten. I enjoyed reading that post again today,
SYBIL, Our son has made me proud and I do love Active Rain. He is doing good in college and now deciding where to go next year. He is at our local community college for this year. He wants to be a marine engineer. He spent his two years in Iraq studying the ocean.
DEB, We have been friends for quite sometime but I would love to see my friend in person. We should meet for lunch sometime.
ROSALINDA, Thanks! This was my first time to win a contest and it is very cool because I was able to write about my two favorite post of all time. They will always be my two favorite post.
MARGARET, I also remember your comment on my post. Thank God we learned our lesson from the Vietnam War. When our son was in uniform he constantly had people coming up to him thanking him for his service. I know that was not the case when your husband returned home from his tours of Vietnam. Thank him again for his service. We owe those Vietnam Vets so much; especially for the way they were treated upon returning home.
