Summer Vacation

Every year I go up to the Arctic Cirlcle for vacation.  I can't do it this year since I'm having my 5th kid in the next 2 weeks.  What do you do for your summer vacation?????/

 Trophy Lake Trout, Aylmer Lake

I was here with my 3 brothers and my dad last summer....it was sooooo cool.  we all caught huge fish, but most importantly, hung with each other for the first time in many years.....we all caught great fish, but we all hung with God, each other and God's works

Trophy Lake Trout at Aylmer Lake

Here's the lake that we stayed at....sleeping in 3 tents just south of the Arctic Circle

Walmsley Lake...
Walmsley Lake is our newest outpost camp and has only seen limited exploration. Walmsley Lake outpost camp is located on an island 50 miles south of Aylmer Lake. Walmsley, a good-sized lake with depths greater than 200 feet, is 20 miles wide by 25 miles long with numerous bays and several river inflows. The arctic grayling fishing is exceptional, thus for the fly-fisherman looking for that arctic grayling 20 inches this is your place. Several lake trout in the mid-20 pound range were caught during the maiden exploration of this lake and bigger ones were sighted. Walmsley Lake has some big bays that look just right for northern pike. While not fished for, northern pike in the 10-12 pound class were caught.

God seems so evident here.....here we are landing on our Sea Plane

Wow, those pictures are awesome or should I say the fishing is awesome. I have always wanted to go fishing in Canada or Alaska and somehow never made it. I'm going to have to just bite the bullet and high tail it up north....awesome pictures.

Larry, you've seen parts of my great country which I haven't seen yet. I do hope to see the north sometime in the future. With your pictures you dissolve the myth that most parts of Canada are always under snow. Canada appreciates all their American visitors.

I thought I'd feel like I was permanently on vacation when I moved to Hawaii.  But it's interesting how we always long to see someplace different than where we live though.  Nice pictures of your vacation.

Larry - three years ago I learned how to scuba dive, and went to Cancun. The next year I went to Hawaii, last year I went to the Virgin Island. Hawaii was the best of all three for scuba, but we had a great time in the Virgin Islands. We did 17 dives. This year we are going to Bonaire. It is suppose to be the best diving in the world.

Beautiful photos!! WOW!

Well first off congrats on the new addition to your family! 5 kids huh? Well 3 was more than enough for me.

I love to go explore new places each year. BUT when I was a kid my family had it's vacation spot that generations had gone. Lake George NY! My parents went as kids and mt grandparents went as kids too. We go there every few years but I like Vegas, Gatlinburg, TN, Curacao, and so on. I am hoping to go to Greece next year!

Larry,

Those are big fish--no wonder you look really pleased.  Do you eat them?  Sorry, I've not gone fishing so I don't know what you do with the catch.  I've seen them stuffed though.  LOL  Walmsley Lake looks serene and gorgeous.  Thanks for sharing!

Yo....thanks for the comments....we eat a lot of fish....nothing of that size though.  Those grow 1 inch a year so the 50+ inch fish are over 50years old.  we just eat the small stuff and take photos of the rest.
