Why Win Win Is Good For Your Business.

Keller Williams as a company promotes Win Win or No Deal.

Essentially buyers, sellers, agents and brokers involved with transactions on property, need to work together to come to an agreement where ALL parties win.

Does this always happen all the time? Unfortunately no. Some people can't to their perception of things escape with a winning feel to the closing. But it is important to try in negotiation to get to this winning part of the deal.

A good agent will represent their side getting the best win possible or they should advise no deal. Even on their own commission. Why?

Twp reasons:

  • referrals from future satisfied customers who will talk like you gave them concierge level customer service and finally
  • SMILES all around. Just like getting a delicious piece of pizza for a fair price, it just feels good afterward!!

Gary,

Win win is such a simple yet powerful concept that should be much more widely used. Those who embrace it have a healthy stream of business from happy past customers. Can't beat that.

Hi Gary... That's an enormous piece of pizza in the picture.  I believe in WIN-WIN deals, but have witnessed a few WIN-LOSE deals.  Interestingly, they were all the result of an agent who felt that they had not done their job for their client until the other agent and their client walked away from the closing bloodied and limping.

In any transaction, the thrill of victory should be shared and nobody should have to feel the agony of defeat.

Gary,

Win-Win is the only way to fly.  One can secure a great deal for a client, and not leave the other side in pain.

Tina: The "good", that is an excellent term to keep in mind in making the deal!!

Bart: It is a good principle to adhere to.

Esko: It keeps the pipeline flowing.

William: A happiness outcome. That is a great way to look at it...

Sharon: I have fun with the photos for sure...

Steve: I like that avoiding the agony of defeat. The win-lose outcome is not pleasant.

Mike: You are absolutely right about not leaving the other side in pain...

I had a settlement today that was going ok until the seller tried to get insanely greedy. The buyer was looking for compromise, the seller was looking to crush. After about 3 hours of hogwash, we came back to the original terms. Stupid. Thankfully my buyers had a bulldog of an agent and were very well represented.

Hi Gary, The brokerages ( all of them), need to this simple and honest principle . Somehow this principle gets lost in the paperwork and the fiduciary that agents have to their respective representation.

Gary:  My Broker often says things like, "It won't work unless it's a win for everybody."  It's so true.  I find that getting to that win for all, it's important to represent your client, but also consider the other side of the transacton.  Give and take.

Winning for some people is the ultimate goal.  They don't care how they get there or who they run over on their way to the top.  However in a relationship business winning isn't what is important.  It is as you point out the win/win that makes all the difference in the long run.
