Buyers this is a great market to buy a home!

People read and hear nothing but negative press on the housing market like; "Home Sales Are Slumping", "The Housing Market Is Slowing Down" which should be followed by " And It's A Great Time To Buy a Home!"
How come we are not hearing or seeing that tag line?  You have to consider the sources, the news media are full of journalists not experts, they report statistics but are in no way experts in everything they report especially the housing market. As a professional Realtor you know your market inside and out and if you asked these reporters for facts about your market they would not have a clue! The job of the media is to Sell Papers or Sell Advetising on the television or web site, if they did not have news that peeks the interest of the public they would not sell advertising.

As a home shopper do you think it's better to buy a home when the market is hot and people are over bidding on homes and actually buying a home over the asking price or as a "smart" buyer would think the best time to buy is when inventory is high and sellers are willing to negotiate with the buyers for a Fair Price? Of course the answer is buy when the housing inventory is high and sellers are willing to negotiate! There is no better time to buy than now, interest rates are still very good even though they are not in the 5's any longer but still a great deal.

The housing market may be slumping in sales compared to maybe 2-3 years ago but the market is about where it normally is with housing taking on avg. 6 months to sell. Sellers are easier to negotiate with on their sales price and interest rates are still low.

Now is a Great Time for home buyers to take advantage of this market, call your local Real Estate Agent and  buy a home while it's a "Buyers Market"
