Fall Inspection Checklist! Part 3 - Interior & Heating

by Carl Winters, Complete Inspection Service
It may be good to call in a professional for this job
There are a few things you can do yourself
Check vents and registers for loose or missing screws or covers.
Change the filter
Look for any visual signs of deterioration, rust or loose parts in your system.
Check to make sure you pilot light is on and working properly.
Make sure you have sufficient heating oil, butane or heat source (order early, don't wait until the last minute to order from your service provide)
Depending on your area of the country and your heating system, the service and maintenance may be quite different. Whatever the system, it does require regular maintenance.
(This was a reminder when my 92-year-old mother called me over the other evening to light her pilot light on her heat system\it's time to get busy with this project). If you are a First Time Home Owner, please be sure to add this to your list of maintenance items.
