This lovely rock structure is easily the most unique (and beautiful) picnic spot I've seen anywhere in the southwest.

Magnificent evening sunsets surrounded by a forest of Giant Saguaros.
1,000 year old petroglyphs at the nearby Signal Hill Picnic Area
Children-friendly, the picnic area has bathrooms!
Quiet and peaceful. Tucson is on the other side of the mountains.
Hiking trails created by the CCC nearly 100 years ago - some with hand-carved granite steps (Hugh Norris trail)

Hi Mike: Looks like a local hot spot! Well er uh it's local and I'll bet it's hot!

Now, what I want to know is what mysterious force or ancient culture created or constructed this structure.

Is it the result of wind and a few rain drops, sand storms, etc.? Or, was it left to us by some decentants of a Neolithic people of past?

So many questions.

It's a wonderful time of year right now. The summer heat is gone, it's in the 60's at night, and the 80's or low 90's during the day. You'd love it.

Mike I do believe I missed this structure when I used to visit the park. Great find a beautiful shot.

When I first looked at the picture, I thought it was a historic but crumbling rock house.
