"thinking outside the circle"

Real Living in the News Real Living's brand is a circle with the company name in.  Real Living HER's brand is two circles.

Real Living HERI personally have always thought of the circles as "polka dots" but my boss recently told me the Real Living brands are circles not polka dots.

Real Living is expanding.  The story of Real Living's expansion  "Real-estate company expanding it's radius"   is in the Sunday Columbus Dispatch, today. The first sentence of the article is:

"The Real Living folks are thinking outside the circle"

Formerly known as HER Realtors, the company has been in Central Ohio since the 1950s.  Real Living was formed in 2002.

In an article written by Mike Pramik of the Columbus Dispatch it talks about the phenomenal growth of the Columbus based company across the United States.

By the end of June Real Living will have offices in California, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.

The Real Living offices in Central Ohio are company owned and are now known as Real Living HER. According to the Dispatch article the Central Ohio offices are among 83 company-owned offices. Real Living is growing through franchising, a new website was introduced recently.  Real Living Franchise

Real Living is innovative when it comes to technology. Real Living is encouraging agents to blog and podcast.  Real Living has a blog, Real Living Blog.  While Central Ohioans's CEO Harley E. Rouda Jr. and President Kaira Sturdivant Rouda are of course quoted throughout the article (including the quest for world domination... a joke) Tripti Kasal, a Real Living franchisee in the Chicago market is quoted too.  Kasal owns Real Living Infinity.  Kasal is quoted quite a bit in the Columbus Dispatch article including how tough the Chicago market has been for Real Living.

Real Living is so Web 2.0

Real Living is Awesome

An innocent bystander, Jennifer Frias recently wrote: So Impressed with Real Living Website Jennifer is "Web Coordinator and Editor for Llewellyn Realtors in Rockville and Frederick MD" according to her profile.

I am just an agent with Real Living HER, I don't sell franchises.

Interesting Maureen!  I had no clue that Real Living was as large as it is...or that is growing.  I had never heard of them before 'meeting' you online.  No plans for Nevada?

Don't bet on it!

I am sorry I just could not resist that, Mary. By 2010 they want to be in all 50 states.

That is really exciting.  Shucks, why don't you buy a franchise and get in on the growth?  I became convinced back in 1999 that the money is in brokerage, not selling real estate.

I've got to say though, it's a tough business, primarily because of the recruiting pressure.

I'm curious Lenn...if one owns their own brokerage why is there 'pressure' to recruit?  Can't you pick or choose whether you want to grow the company, or not?  I like your idea of Maureen buying a franchise and opening one in Las Vegas...

I just got around to reading the article in today's paper. It was a great write-up. Cyndee, they already are in Florida but I'm not sure what cities.

They're a great company to work for and the techie stuff they offer for agents and clients is dynamite! I frequently get solicitations to change brokers. NO WAY.

Regarding Jim's Real Living HIM ... the HER stands for Harley E Rouda, the father that started the business back in the 50's. It's not just a bunch of females! ;-)

Good post, Maureen!

Maureen - sounds like a very forward-thinking company you work for.  Had no idea they were that big, and it looks as though parts of New England are already on their map.
