I recently commented on the decline of the photography groups.  I just noticed that AR is awarding 100 points just for signing on each day.  Is this an indication of AR's decline across the board?

Hi Lee ~ I don't think so at all. I think it's a way of encouraging people to sign on every day.  It also means that over time new members will have just a bit of an easier time rising in the ranks in their area above people who are no longer active members. Points are great!

I hope not.  It is a great site for blogging and exposing your business info.

Liz is right...it's a way to get you top stop in, knowing all are busy but just drop in and check out a new blog, make a comment, blog yourself. Picking up steam with the numbers growing growing leaps and bounds. That shows the energy and strength of the place...still growing!

Could be, but I tend to agree with the other comments.  I view it as encouragement to actively participate.

I'm glad to hear that ActiveRain is doing well in the other groups.

Hmmm...I didn't even notice they were doing that.

The 100 points per day is a nice little bonus!  I doubt it means interest is falling off -- hopefully the site is as strong as ever.

I was hoping it was a way to encourage people to turn off their computers when they're not using them.
