Have you ever entered a home that did not have ENOUGH clutter? Recently our team worked with a client in Berwyn Chester County PA that had purchased a new home and decided less than a year later to relocate. The home was stunning and had every upgrade imaginable- the problem, however, was that it somehow felt hollow or empty. It was not completely vacant but it did not have a personality about it that buyers would remember. This was a quick fix for us- we brought in some furniture and accessories to give it a memorable quality. Usually less is more but in this case more was more. Take a peek for yourself:

It appears that some people are minimalists. How refreshing from the multitudes that seem to have more possessions than twice the amount of space would provide for. Great Post and good pictures to support it.

PS, I know it looks sort of weak but you are of course right, it needs some help. :-)

Kate -- you can't call your "afters" clutter... clutter is sometimes simply too much of a good thing, your pictures are beautiful, and the minimal application of those beautiful accessories are elements of a great design. I get your point though!!!

Kate - great before and after pictures!  I've been in houses before where my buyer clients would ask if anyone really lived there because it was so cold feeling and austere.  Those sellers liked living like the owner you staged this home for.  It may work for them while they live there, but they don't realize how cold it feels to potential buyers.

You did a great job warming up this house to make it feel like a home.

Kate - Incredible job!  Your pictures demonstrate the power of staging!  The home now feels warm and with these "after" pictures, are surely going to draw the prospective buyers off the internet and into the home.

Would you mind adding this post to the Staging "Before" & "After" Group?  I'd like to feature the post!

Thanks

Kathy
