Get Down....Downtown Searcy held this weekend! Crowds! Big Success!

Big dog little dog

Drifting to Get Down....Downtown Searcy yesterday was a pleasure.

The streets of downtown were roped off and vendors of all kinds lined the streets, especially food vendors.  I almost bought ribs three times to take home and eat later. Smells were fabulous.

Music was on each end of the street with a variety of entertainment. I snapped a few pictures.

I loved this one with the big dog and tiny dog.  The couple graciously let me snap their picture.

Climbing

Another favorite was this climbing mountain.

Someone had set it up and the kids loved it.  There was a line to try their climbing skills.

Another new addition was a fish display brought in by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Fish display

This is the second year that Searcy has had this festival.  The objective is to get people to come and visit our very active downtown, to have fun and to "Get Down....Downtown"  with all your friends from all of White County Arkansas.  I felt that this one was bigger and better than the first one!  Congratulations to the "Get Down" team!

Godmother Barbara,

That looks fun. Seriously, Mr Charles used to do that climbing thing. He fell on his head once so that might explain the way he acts. I am wondering if it would be of benefit to the Active Rain family if I was to document every way in which he has slighted me in the past?

Godson Nutsy,

If we could just get you featured!  If featured everyone reads it.  If the whole activerain knew of your slights and abuses by not only him but his friends they might all chip in and make restitution on your behalf.

Thinking....

Godmother Barbara,

I have begun writing about the slights. They are so vast and the chasms so wide that, were I a lesser being, I would sob as I relive the agony. You can only imagine the pain that Mr Charles, Mr James and that wannabe Godmother, Mrs Kate, have subjected me to. I am so thankful that you are so much wiser than that whole pack of hooligans combined. I do have a fear however, that AR will not allow me to post all of this list of slights because it might eat up all of their bandwidth. I have only gotten down to the time Mr Charles took one of my Frito Lay corn chips without asking and that does not even get into the most hurtful hurts. Despite that, I am now at over 1000 slights by Mr Charles alone.

Your adoring and adorable Godson, Nutsy

Charles, that climbing wall was scary.  I saw a little girl starting with Pop, I assume, urging her on.  She grasped for those little handholds and decided she'd had it.  She swung free with everyone hollering, "Don't quit.  Don't come down!"  She came down.  I was the only one saying she was one smart little girl!  That video that you put up with all those daredevils was scary!

Godson Nutsy,

Perhaps we can just do the worst ones.  My suggestion is that your boss start your biography called something like, "I created an identity on Activerain and it has brought me prosperity and success and lots of friends."  Then you start putting in all the ways you were a "nothing" until activerain.  The Gods won't read down very far til they holler, "Featured!"

The last part of your story will be the ills that have been directed your way by all the villains you've met.  The Gods don't have time to read it all.

But all of the rainers will see it featured, devour it and you'll be vindicated!!

Tell Boss to get started.  Of course, I expect lots of praise for me and my cat!!  I'm so excited!!!!!

It's you and me, Babe.....

Godmother Barbara,

Do you believe this abuse? He is now trying to make the boss and I look as stupid as his assistant. Speaking of his slighting me, I bet that people do not know about the time that the boss took a few of us out to McDonalds for a celebration of my terms of employment and Mr Charles stole my happy meal. That is slight number 1098 and I am still not into sorting through the bigger slights. Thinking about this makes me want a drink.

Barbara,

I laughed at your formula for a featured blog. There is some truth in that I think.

Raven, your heart is back!!

Charles, do not tell the guys that I laughed at that picture of the two equal partners except for ears on one of them!

Quackers, here's the plan.  Points. The boys are giving me points.  You are too.  Thanks.

Charles, who is this new fish character of yours?  I don't think he/she can ever be as pretty as our cat fish in Arkansas.

Godmother Barbara,

I have been slighted again. I am in a blind rage. Look at Mr Charles's post today. He is, once again, photoshopping photos and trying to make me look like a sissy or a cross-dresser or something that is absolutely not true. I am a man's man. Please go over there and slap him silly. Please let him know that you know that he is a loser with a capital L.
