Every weekend I drive around to all my vacant Las Vegas Rental Properties to check on them and collect business cards from agents that showed the properties.  I like to follow up with the agents to get feedback on what their clients thought of the property.  When I go on my inspections, I usually take my daughter with me, she is 8....

I avoid nasty surprises like this by asking my first-time buyers, or renters that I know well to move into my vacant listings.  A house seems to suffer greatly from vacancy, especially the plumbing. 

This technique has been enormously popular with my sellers, my landlords, the neighbors, everyone!

Who are you thinking of right now that could stay there for you to prevent something like this happening again?

Scary and I too would have dialed 911 if only to make a police report for insurance purposes.....I "out ride" my vacant properties weekly and changed my listing sheet, replenish my applicaton forms, check thermostats and pour Spic/Span in the toilets and flush them.....makes the property smell REALLY GOOD * I'd ask neighbor to park a car in the drive until the unit was rented...

Reading this post was suspenseful... kept me wondering what would happen next.  I know you were relieved you didn't have to deal with someone being there.  Hopefully it did not shake up your daughter too much.  We do many house checks along with the lawn care and showings.
