• 3,867 single family homes for sale
• 2,825 condos for sale
• 1,708 single family homes under contract
• 569 condos under contract
• 4,052 single family homes sold and closed so far in 2009
• 1,652 condos sold and closed so far in 2009

From an average Realtor's perspective the market is fairly busy. September is typically a slow month for real estate. Personally, I am fairly steady. I sold one house, currently negotiating a condo on Longboat Key beach and my partner Shayla Twit sold 2 properties as well.

The general public and especially people from up north think that Realtors are twiddling their thumbs down in Florida. That is far from true. I actually have grown tired of people calling me and emailing thinking that they can buy property half off of the list price. On average, properties in Sarasota are selling for about 90% of list price.
