Now that's some serious purple. My wise old grandmother's favorite color was purple, and the first Christmas present she ever gave me was a purple "banana seat" bike. I loved it.
Elizabeth - It certainly seems like Southern California has its share of amuzement parks. I wouldn't mind having another one built however. . .Just as long as it was somewhere in the Greater Sacramento area:-)
Tony and Darcy - It so reminds me of when I was growing up:-)
Carole - I'm a classic Mustang kind of gal too! The closest I came to it was in 1985, which was a very busy real estate year for me. I had a quiet Saturday afternoon when I walked into the Ford dealership, and bought a new red 1985 Mustang convertible, with 5.0 engine, and fully loaded. That car, her name was Suzy, was with me for 15 years, through thick and thin, until she developed an intermittant electrical problem. I had her totally rebuilt, and had what I considered to be the best mechanic in town, but she would NEVER break down in front of the mechanic, and couldn't be diagnosed. Suzy knew the tow truck driver on a first name basis. So finally, on one very rainy November evening in the year 2000, I drove her to the dealership, and with her engine still running, I traded her in:-( I thought I would need bereavement counselling for the next two weeks.
Russel - Purple is the color of wisdom - Just like your grandmother:-)
Myrl,
Purple is one of my favorite colors. There is so much to see that you really need to study the photograph to capture all that is happening.
Thank you as always for sharing.
Sharon
Myrl...Beautiful color...I know that this is also Liz Taylor's favorite color.
Hi Myrl - Purple and white were my high school colors. There's a lot going on in that photo - another great shot! Where's the Beach Boys?
Sharon - There are a lot of moving parts to that picture. . .That's for certain!
Rebecca - Liz Taylor also has purple eyes:-)
John - Now that's a coincidence. . .Purple and White were my high school colors too! I graduated from Sacramento High School. Our mascot was Duncan the Dragon.
What a fun colorful photograph! I've always loved purple too.......and I had a purple banana seat bike like Russel! It was the best looking bike on our street.
What a great fun photo! I love the woody, and I wonder if the makers ever imagined it that color! LOL Cool to see the surfboard on the side :)
Debi
Myrl, you look like such an adventurous lady. My favorite color is purple and it looks great on you too.
What a deep purple. Thanks for sharing!
What a great day to be alive!
Paul
Ann - Since many of you changed your profile photos, I feel like I've lost about half my friends, and gained new ones. . .I love this picture of you:-) My kids all had the banana seat bikes. One of my daughters had the purple bike with matching seat. She loved it!
Debi - If I remember right those old woodies never had exotic colors like this one. I remember a sort of khaki colored cream woody that my neighbor had when I was a kid.
Lee and Carol - I am usually kind of a home body, but when I get the urge for an adventure, I'm outta here:-)
Paul - You're very welcome. . .I hope you had a great weekend!
Hi Myrl, A "Woody", and a fabulous photo. They need to bring these old cars back, at least we could enjoy seeing the surfers embrace them as they head to the beaches in CA. Loved it!
Hi Myrl,
What a beautiful photo and a wonderful array of colors. And you look simply stunning!!
Steve
William - I get really nostalgic around classic cars. I'm fond of the classic Mustangs, and the 1955, 1956, and 1957 chevys. . .Especially if they are convertibles:-)
Steve - Well thank you Kind Sir. . .[blushing].
Myrl - How did I ever miss this post? It was on the fourth page at the group Express with photographs, I saw it on the first page at the California Dreaming group.
This is one of the benefits of smaller groups and your wonderful photograph has been featured at one of my favorite groups ........

Hi Myrl...That Car certainly is purple...I remember a guy having a similar car and same colour here when I was Little.
Great Photo :O))
Hi Myrl - I love the photograph. Recently, I attended a hot rod rally and there were cars of all colors, but NO purple - my absolute favorite color. Thank you for brightening my day.
