Five things I wish other real estate agents would do, but most don't

  1. Identify themselves as agents when they call.
  2. Put their contact info on all their contracts so if I need to call them I can.
  3. Have a pre programmed signature for all their emails so if I have to respond quickly by phone, I can.
  4. Learn how to scan a document to when you send it is not upside down.
  5. Read and fill out attached addendums to contracts

Just my comments, on the side.

Oh yeah, those upside down contracts drive me crazy!  LOL  I guess I'm lucky they figured out the scanner, so I shouldn't complain.

Sincerely,

Kathleen

I am with you 100% on #4. I want to include many others on it.

I agree with your 5, 6-8 posted by others and I also wanted to add #9 have a keypad to access the lockboxes.  You know how many agents call to show my listings but then proceed to say that they don't have a keypad!  How  can an agent function with being able to access entry into the houses.  In North Jersey, unless its REO, GSMLS lockboxes are used and everyone should and must have a supra key to access the keys!

I agree with all the above....but especially agree with 6 and 7.

Well, I jsut picked five becasue I did not want ot be a complainer. but how abouot these:

9. Never ask me, "Did you get my email?"

10: Learn how to respond to an email with full subject and a concise first sentence.

11. Same thing with essages, subject please.

12, If I tell you are one of 24 offers I have on a property, don't call me three times a day to see if the bank has accepted it.

13. Respect my client, don't try to communicate directly with him

14, Dont tell me that you cant tell me if youahve other offers on your REO. It is your job to get the hghest price for your client ( the bank ) and not capture the deal for your two sided commsioon customer.

All five things have happened to me.  Another one is don't insult my knowledge by saying "this home is way over priced" when it is not.

Gregg Fous  Fort Myers, FL

Hello Gregg,  I feel pretty proud of myself.  I do all of the above, with the exception of the upside down scans. Kathleen,  most of the time scans are ok, but unfortunately I don't re-scan because of orientation.

I am very bad about giving feedback on properties that I have shown or previewed.  I just don't want to do it.  Good luck to all of you.
